Aniimo Legendary Journey Explained: Every Permanent Irisalis Petal Source, Row by Row, With AniimoSync
The Legendary Journey hides its best advice behind a small How to Obtain button. AniimoSync opened it on 30 September 2026 and went through every row; we read each count off his screen, checked it against the game’s own help text and put the nine permanent sources, 107 petals in all, in one table, with the event shop and the weekly petals after them.

The row-by-row walk through the How to Obtain panel, the spending advice and every game screenshot on this page come from AniimoSync’s video of 30 September 2026
The Legendary Journey’s How to Obtain panel lists nine permanent Irisalis Petal sources worth 107 petals between them, eight more than the 99 a Legendary Aniipod: Irisalis costs, so the pod can be crafted without spending a stamp or a Glimmer. The catch is that the panel never tells you what each row means, and some rows take weeks.
AniimoSync’s video of 30 September 2026 is a tour of that one screen. His advice is in the title: do the free petals first, and only then spend stamps or shop currency on the weekly ones. We read every count off his frames, matched each row to the game’s own help text, and added what the site already knows about each source. Where the screen and the narration differ, this page follows the screen and says so.
Where is the Legendary Journey petal list?
Open Events, pick Legendary Journey, and press How to Obtain under the petal icon at the bottom left of the Irisalis screen. AniimoSync points at it at 0:30 and calls it the screen to “direct your attention to”, because the event page itself only shows the craft counter, 29 of 99 on his account.
The panel has two tabs. Permanent holds nine rows, each with a petal icon and a progress count. Weekly Rotation holds the paid and capped sources, with a reset timer in its title: 5d2h when he filmed.
Every row is a button. Pressing one jumps to the matching menu: the story log, the map, the Institute Guide, the Branch. That is how AniimoSync moves through the rest of the video, and how this page is ordered.
What is the difference between Permanent and Weekly Rotation petals?
Permanent rows are one-time rewards for things you do anyway, and they stay claimable after the event; Weekly Rotation rows refill every week and cost stamps, Glimmer or energy. AniimoSync puts it plainly at 0:43: “The permanent one is the really important one.”
The game agrees in its own help text, which opens: “Even after the Legendary Journey event ends, Pathfinders can still get Irisalis Petals in the following ways (except Tracing the Trail).” Its event rules add that unspent petals remain permanently. So nothing on the Permanent tab is a race, with one exception that we come to below.
AniimoSync’s summary of the two tabs, at 0:11: you can get the pod by “playing the game naturally”, or by buying petals from the Stamp Shop, a maximum of four, and the event shop. He does not recommend starting with the second route, “because like I said, you can do it free”.
How many Irisalis Petals does each permanent row pay?
Main Story 12, Gather 8, Journey Quests 10, Alpha First Clear 17, Elite Pathfinder Challenge 7, Branch Nurture 18, Silver Badge 14, Aniimo Topic 16 and Tracing the Trail 5: 107 in all. The counts are the denominators on AniimoSync’s screen; the “what counts” column is the game’s help text for each row.
| Row | Petals | What counts | AniimoSync’s count |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main Story | 12 | Eight story quests, Ceremony Preparations to A New Journey | 6/12 |
| Gather | 8 | Irisalis Petal: Gathering, Parts I to VIII | 1/8 |
| Journey Quests | 10 | One per Legend chapter, ten chapters | 0/10 |
| Alpha First Clear | 17 | First win over each Breezy Plains Alpha | 7/17 |
| Elite Pathfinder Challenge | 7 | Six Seniors and Lita | 0/7 |
| Branch Nurture | 18 | Nodes on the Breezy Plains Branch | 6/18 |
| Silver Badge | 14 | One per area of Breezy Plains | 1/14 |
| Aniimo Topic | 16 | Collect Prismana Form, in each Aniilog entry | 1/16 |
| Tracing the Trail | 5 | One per investigation; ends 9 December 2026 | 5/5 |
| Total | 107 | 99 crafts the Legendary Aniipod: Irisalis | 27 held |
His 6 + 1 + 0 + 7 + 0 + 6 + 1 + 1 + 5 makes 27, the number in the orb. He tells viewers that once you are “done with most of these, you’re going to have about 80 petals”; the table shows why that is a safe floor. Leave Elite Pathfinders and Aniimo Topic for later, the two slow rows he warns about, and the other seven still add up to 84.
Main Story: 12 petals from the story you are already playing
The story quests of Breezy Plains pay 12 petals across eight quests, so finishing the main story is the first thing to do if you are short. AniimoSync, at 1:06: “If you’re in the hunt for petals and you have not completed your main quest, make sure you do your main quest.”
The game’s help text names the eight: Ceremony Preparations, The Ceremony That Never Began, Colorful Fragrance, The Land of Dancing Illusions, The Land where Dreams Come True, Ancient Sacred Fragrance, Rainbow of the Ground and A New Journey. The Main Story row jumps straight to the log, and his open quest shows the rate is not one each.
That tooltip is the petal’s own description: “Used to craft ‘Legendary Aniipod: Irisalis’ and ‘Legendary Aniipod: Departure with the Wind,’ and to exchange for items in the Legendary Journey event shop.” Ancient Sacred Fragrance is also the quest that sends you to Russet Highlands, where the painter Sorora starts the Warrior Journey quest, as our Jawling evolution guide shows. One story beat, two petal rows.
How do you gather the butterfly shadows? The eight Gather petals
The Gather row is eight petals placed in the world, Parts I and II in Lumenfly Valley and Parts III and IV on Tideblossom Coast, each marked by a glowing petal with a butterfly over it. The Legendary Journey’s first chapter, Trail of Butterfly Shadows, asks for exactly this: “Countless mysterious petals drift across Breezy Plains. Pathfinder, please gather these scattered petals.”
Pressing Gather opens the Help entry Irisalis Petal: Gathering. Its first page shows four screenshots and says which part each one is.
The second page of the same help entry, per the game’s text, names the other four: Part V “Omega Tuckin”, Part VI “Omega Sherro”, Part VII “Omega Infergon” and Part VIII “Breezy Plains Summit”. Three of those are Omega boss names, which suggests the petals sit near the arenas of Tuckin, Sherro and Infergon. That is our reading: the help text names the place, not the spot.
His map circles petal markers near Mistwoods, below Russet Highlands, either side of Sea of Flowers and down to the south coast. He calls them “probably going to be some of the easier ones”. You can line his circles up with region labels on our interactive map, opened on Tideblossom Coast. Search Console shows players typing “irisalis petal locations”: these eight are the only petals in the game that sit on the ground.
Which Journey Quests give Irisalis Petals?
One petal for finishing each of the ten Legend chapters in the Journey tab of the log, not for each side quest. AniimoSync explains the trap at 1:52: the log does not show which quest pays, because the petal sits on the last quest of each chain.
To save players a wasted chain, he shows a chart he found online with the starter quest for each chapter. We copied the chapter and starter names below and checked the chapter names against the game’s help text; the clues are the chart’s, not ours.
| Journey chapter | Region | Starter quest, per the chart |
|---|---|---|
| The Legend of Mist and Light | Mistwoods | Binding Oath |
| The Legend of Echoback Landing | Echoback Landing | Everlasting Echoback Song |
| The Legend of Flowers and Thorns | Sea of Flowers | Flowers and Thorns: Sea of Flowers |
| The Legend of the Land of Falling Stars | Forest of Falling Stars | A Fragrant Journey: Forest of Falling Stars |
| The Legend of Thousand-Fang Ridge | Beast Fang Ridge | Warrior |
| The Legend of the Land of Lightning and Thunder | Blitzwood | An Answer from the Heavens |
| The Legend of Helmuts and Helgons | Russet Highlands | Warrior |
| The Legend of the Bell of Freedom | Argent Strait | Fly Free! |
| The Legend of the Berylline Vale | Berylline Vale | The Perfect Path |
| The Legend of Driftwise Meadow | Driftwise Meadow | Fentufts and the Nimbi |
Two notes. The chart calls the Blitzwood chapter “The Legend of the Thunderlands”; the game’s text says Land of Lightning and Thunder, and we use that. And two chapters start with a quest called Warrior, which is why “warrior journey quest” is a common search: the Beast Fang Ridge one is covered in our Inferlupa guide, the Russet Highlands one in the Jawling guide linked above. AniimoSync’s caution: you may have done a starter already, so check the log before you go.
Alpha First Clear: 17 petals, one per Alpha
The first win over each Alpha in Breezy Plains pays a petal, 17 in total, and the Institute Guide lists them. AniimoSync, at 2:31: an Alpha you have never met shows as “Alpha unknown”, and you have to find it before it counts.
The six on screen are Turbo, Stellarys, Scorchhowl, Leafy, Panpanta and Blazen; further down his list the rows turn into Unknown Alpha with Not found on the button. At 7 of 17, AniimoSync has ten to go. This row rewards levelling more than any other, and the Alpha rewards (evolution stones, held items) are worth taking regardless.
Elite Pathfinder Challenge: 7 petals, and only the elite ones count
Seven trainers pay a petal on the first win: Senior Wally, Senior Jilly, Senior Loulla, Senior Aster, Senior Wendell, Senior Cecelia and Lita, per the game’s help text. AniimoSync, at 2:59: “It cannot be these kind, the Pathfinder challenge. It has to be Elite Pathfinder challenge.”
On the map the elite ones carry what he calls the “color palette badge”, a flower crest at the top of the panel, and the description says they pit you against a certified elite Pathfinder. A plain Pathfinder Challenge he opens next, recommended level 43, has no petal in its rewards. These fights are hard: “it might take you some leveling up”, he says, and the one on screen asks for level 50. Lita is the same Instructor whose level 60 challenge leads to the egg in our Prismana Sherro guide.
Branch Nurture: 18 petals from the Breezy Plains Branch
Infusing energy into the Breezy Plains Branch unlocks nodes around its ring, and 18 of those milestones pay petals. AniimoSync, at 3:04, calls it a grind worth doing for its own sake, because the same Branch is what eventually gives you unlimited stamina out of combat.
The fuel is Lumin Amber. He is out of it, so his tip is where to find more: sanctums carry it too, and “all you have to do is complete it one time”. The full ladder, 150 Lumin Amber to the end and every node’s reward, is in our unlimited stamina guide. At 6 of 18 petals and 41 infused, a third of his Branch petals are in.
Silver Badge: 14 petals, one per region
Each of the 14 regions of Breezy Plains pays a petal when its collection reaches 70%, the Silver Badge. Zoom the world map all the way out, click a region, and the panel shows its percentage and the reward bar.
He walks four regions at 3:40 to 4:12. Sea of Flowers is past 70%. Russet Highlands is at 14%, “not even at bronze”. Beast Fang Ridge sits at bronze, short of the silver mark. Blitzwood is at 75%, so he claims its petal on camera and the Obtained screen shows 1 petal and 500 EXP. The percentage is collection, the share of the region’s Aniimo you have registered, so the fastest route is the roster on each region page and the Blitzwood or Beast Fang Ridge lists.
What is Aniimo Topic, and why is it the slowest row?
Aniimo Topic pays one petal each time you complete the Topic “Collect Prismana Form Aniimo” for a species, 16 in all, which means catching or hatching 16 Prismana Forms. AniimoSync, at 4:18: “This one’s a bit harder. Don’t rush this one.”
Topics live in each Aniimo’s Aniilog entry, alongside Use Skills, Own an Elite Aniimo and Obtain a Sparkling Aniimo. His example is Cornet, and the petal is his for owning a Prismana Cornet. The game’s help text ties the row to the Nova Stage entries in the Aniilog. Our data files list 25 Prismana Forms, and only 16 rows count here, so not every Prismana pays; the panel does not say which do. The ways to get Prismana Forms on purpose, Prismana Flow and Nurture, are in our Nurture guide.
Tracing the Trail: 5 petals, and the one row that closes
Tracing the Trail: The Shadow of Legend pays one petal per completed investigation, five in all, and it is the only permanent row that stops on 9 December 2026. AniimoSync calls it “basically an AFK one” and “probably the easiest one that you’re going to do”.
You send a squad of Aniimo out on each clue and collect the reward hours later. Our event page has the timers: a flat 4 hours, cut to 2h 48m with a Prismana or Sparkling in the squad. The Tracing the Trail guide covers the grades. This is the exception in the help text quoted earlier, so do it now even if you leave the rest for later.
What does the Legendary Journey event shop sell, and when should you spend stamps?
The Legendary Journey event shop sells the Breezy Mission Letter for 428 Glimmer, worth 5 petals each, and two items locked until you craft the pod: the Glimmering Driftshadow at 2 petals and the Floral Rainbow Feather at 30. The Stamp Shop, separately, sells the petal itself for 50 stamps, four a week.
One number disagrees with our earlier footage. AniimoSync’s letter card reads Weekly Limit: 15/15, while menaceFT’s, filmed a week before for our weekly petal guide, read 4/5. We have not seen the limit change announced; check the card on your own account.
Here is where AniimoSync and our weekly guide part ways, and both have a point. His advice at 4:59: get to about 80 from the free rows, then use stamps for the last few, “I just wouldn’t suggest buying them now until you’re ready to actually use them.” Stamps are shared with everything else in the shop, so holding them keeps your options open. The counter-argument is the weekly cap: four petals a week that you do not buy are not saved up for later. If you know you are going for Irisalis, buying the four each week costs 200 stamps and gets you there sooner.
The Faded Rainbow and the seasonal Aniipod
Memory: The Faded Rainbow is a weekly fight against Irelia that pays 3 petals per claim for 50 energy, 6 a week, and it unlocks once you finish the event story. AniimoSync covers it at 5:14: once your week is up, “you can do this again for the six petals and repeat”.
Once it is open, the Weekly Rotation tab gains its third row. By 5:20 his account shows The Faded Rainbow at 6/6 and 107 petals in the orb, with the Stamp Shop still at 0/4 for the week: no stamp petals bought this week.
After the Irisalis pod, petals keep a use. At 5:30 he points at the later rewards, the “exclusive seasonal” pod, and says you have all season for it. That is the Legendary Aniipod: Departure with the Wind, 50 petals each, up to ten, a guaranteed catch with a guaranteed Sparkling, per the event rules. The first pod is on our Legendary Aniipod page.
What should you do first in the Legendary Journey?
Play Trail of Butterfly Shadows and the free rows before you spend any resource on petals. That is AniimoSync’s closing advice at 5:40, and the arithmetic backs it: the permanent tab alone covers the pod.
The order that falls out of the video and the table:
- Open How to Obtain and read your own counts on the Permanent tab.
- Finish the main story for its 12 petals.
- Start Tracing the Trail now: 5 petals, and it ends on 9 December 2026.
- Collect the eight Gather petals with the help page and his map.
- Clear Alphas, Silver Badges and Branch nodes as you level, 49 petals between them.
- Finish the Journey chapters, one petal each.
- Then the weekly rows: The Faded Rainbow, the Stamp Shop, the letters, in whatever order your stamps and Glimmer allow.
Once Craft is ticked, Track opens the encounter, and the fight, the catch and Irisalis’s kit are on her Aniidex page and in our Walking with Irisalis event page. For what to do with the petals left over, skins and the Transmog, see our Irisalis skins guide. The dates of both chapters are on the Trail of Butterfly Shadows event page.
