How to Get Somniwing in Aniimo: Best Build, Abilities and Squad

Somniwing is not on the map. She is the card at the end of the Elite Training reward track, at 180 of 180 points, and our index still records no habitat for her anywhere in Idyll. Lex opened every skill card, the trait tooltip and both recommended carried items on camera; we read the numbers off the frames, checked them against the game’s own data files, and found three places where his figures and the screen do not match.

You get Somniwing in Aniimo by filling the Elite Training reward track to 180 of 180 points: she is the card sitting at the end of that bar, and there is no wild spawn for her anywhere in Idyll. Our Aniidex records no habitat for Somniwing at all, which is why hunting for a location is wasted time. She is a Wind and Grass Regen at 538 total base stats, her best stat is REGEN 115, and she has no evolution: one stage, Nova, and that is the whole line.

Lex published a 7 minute Somniwing guide on 21 September 2026 and opened every card the question needs: the Elite Training track, the Aniilog unlock, the Capability Awakening panel, all four skill tooltips, the trait, and both carried items. Everything below is read off those frames at 1440p, then checked against the game’s own data files and against this site’s index. Three of his spoken figures do not match what his own screen says, and each one is flagged where it comes up.

How do you get Somniwing in Aniimo?

Elite Training, 180 points, one card. Lex puts it at 0:30: reach the required progression, earn 180 Elite Training points, claim Somniwing. The bar running along the bottom of the Elite Training screen is the one that matters, and it is separate from the quest list above it: Core Course quests and the four elective paths both pay into it.

Aniimo’s Elite Training on Core Courses Chapter 6, its reward track reading 180/180 with stops at 10, 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150 and the Somniwing card at the end
0:45. The track that hands over Somniwing: 180 of 180, with the card glowing at the right-hand end. The panel on the right is the Trailblazer promotion, Raise your character to level 55 and Complete 4 required quests in Chapter 6, for a cap of Lv.60.

The stops are 10, 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 180, which is exactly the ladder our menu guide recorded when AniimoSync walked the same screen, and both creators say the same thing about it: this track is the only source of a Somniwing in the launch client. Nothing on it expires, so there is no urgency, only an order to do things in.

  1. Stop looking for a location. The Aniidex habitat row for Somniwing reads TBD: none published. There is no region, no spawn window and no Aniipod that catches one.
  2. Open Elite Training in the Institute Guide and look below the quest cards for the points bar.
  3. Clear Core Course quests in your current chapter. On Lex’s Chapter 6 screen each one pays 1,100 EXP alongside its materials, so the points arrive while you are levelling anyway. Our levelling route covers that ladder in full.
  4. Work the four elective paths, Path of Twining, Path of Discovery, Path of Victory and Path of Splendor. Their objectives are things you do by playing: badges, journey quests, one Egg Heist run.
  5. Claim every rung as you pass it. Rewards sit unclaimed until pressed. At 180 the last node opens the card.

0:03. The card itself, with the Prismana tag, the Legendary badge and the client’s flavour line, Wherever the scales fall, vitality bursts. One polite disagreement to record: this card reads No.030, while our index and the game’s published Aniilog values file Somniwing at No.031.

Somniwing’s element, role and base stats

Lex calls her a “grass wind support” at 1:01. The screen is more specific, and the difference matters when you are filling slots. The client lists her element as Wind with Grass second, and her role as Regen, not Support. That is why her squad page puts her in the Regen slot and gives the Support slot to someone else, usually Tromber.

On the element chart, Wind deals 1.6× to Dark and Grass, is resisted down to 0.625× by Lightning and by other Wind, and takes 1.6× from Lightning and Light. Hold on to the Grass line, because it collides with her own kit two sections down.

Every Somniwing ability, and what it costs

Four buttons and a trait. The table is the client’s own wording and its own numbers, read off Lex’s skill cards; the italics are where his voiceover and his screen disagree.

Aniimo’s Hypnotic Spores card for Somniwing, Might 28, EP Cost 20, Cooldown 18s, beside the Energy Full trait tooltip reading Increases max EP by 10
1:15. Two numbers in one frame. Hypnotic Spores costs 20 EP on an 18 second cooldown, and the Energy Full tooltip says Increases max EP by 10. Lex says 10% at 1:15; the client says a flat 10, and our index says the same.

The sleep has a detail worth reading twice. [Sleeping] is removed when the target takes damage, so the 25% amplifier pays out on whatever lands first and the five seconds are setup time rather than a five second beating. Line up one big opener, not a flurry of chip damage. That is our reading of the client text, and it is the mechanical reason Lex’s advice at 2:50 is right: do not cast Hypnotic Spores and then attack with Somniwing herself.

The second detail is the funnier one. Hypnotic Spores is ineffective against Grass-type Aniimo, and Wind hits Grass for 1.6×. So the enemies Somniwing’s element bullies hardest are exactly the ones her control button does nothing to.

Somniwing’s Ethereal Light Wave skill card in Aniimo, tagged Core and Support REGEN, EP Cost 0, Cooldown 15s, raising EP recovery by 30% for 20s
1:40. The free one. 0 EP, 15 second cooldown, 20 second buff. The buff lasts five seconds longer than the cooldown, so a Somniwing who casts it on sight keeps it running permanently.

Ethereal Light Wave is also her Core Skill, marked with the gold S badge, which is the one move an assist is allowed to cast in Egg Heist and the Holo-Battle Sim. Our Core Skills guide lists it under Wind, and the practical consequence is that Somniwing loses almost nothing as an assist: the projectile screen and the EP buff both survive, and only Butterfly Dance stays at home.

Somniwing’s Butterfly Dance Ultimate card in Aniimo, Ultimate Cost 100, Cooldown 20s, recovering 46 EP through her power of rejuvenation
3:23. Butterfly Dance, the Ultimate that deals no damage at all. Lex says 36 EP at base in the voiceover; his own card reads 46, and our index prints 22.5 for the unscaled figure. The value moves with REGEN, which is the whole argument for the build below.
Somniwing’s Energy Orb skill card in Aniimo, Might 30, EP Cost 10, five charge stages dealing 1, 2, 3, 4.5 and 6 times Might
3:55. Her only real damage button. Five stages at 1, 2, 3, 4.5 and 6× a Might of 30, bought with 10 EP per 0.6 seconds of holding. A full charge is 50 EP.

How Somniwing keeps the squad’s EP up

This is the part the stat sheet does not show, so here is the arithmetic in one place. Ethereal Light Wave is free, has a 15 second cooldown and buffs for 20, so it is permanently available at no cost. Butterfly Dance returns 46 EP in one press on a built Somniwing. Energy Full adds 10 to the maximum pool, which is half a Hypnotic Spores or one extra charge tick on Energy Orb.

Somniwing hovering in the Aniimo overworld at Pathfinder level 51, wings spread over dry grass, with her EP pips and the Abnormal Status and REGEN buttons on the HUD
3:04. The EP pips run along the bottom of the HUD and every skill button prints its own cost. Hypnotic Spores greys out below 20, which is the moment most Somniwing players notice the trait exists.

Put together, the cycle Lex describes at 1:26 costs almost nothing: swap in, cast the free wave through your carry, sleep the target if it is not Grass, swap out. The only EP Somniwing ever spends is on Hypnotic Spores and Energy Orb, and the only one of those two you need is the first.

She is not the only EP answer in the game. Our Fulmintis build compares her to Besauce, whose Charged Geyser restores 15 Energy plus 0.5 per second for 12 seconds, and the principle both creators land on is the same: element matching is optional, EP is not.

The best Somniwing build: attributes and carried items

HP first, REGEN second, and a REGEN carried item. Lex argues for it from feel at 4:35, and the game agrees in writing: Somniwing’s own recommended build panel ranks her attributes HP 1st and REGEN 2nd, and lists two carried items, both of which Lex names.

5:02. Spirited Feather on Lex’s Somniwing, at Epic: REGEN 5.0% and a core effect of 0.7 extra REGEN per level. The auto-captions render it “spirited feeder”, which is the caption track mishearing the game, not Lex.

The Auspicious Bell carried item on Somniwing in Aniimo, a golden cat charm, REGEN 3.0%, with a 20% chance to gain 5 EP when using a skill
5:09. Auspicious Bell, the golden cat, at Rare: REGEN 3.0%. Both items come in Rare, Epic and Legendary at 3%, 5% and 10%, so the two Lex shows are each one or two tiers below their ceiling. The full held item database has every tier.

Two practical notes. The choice between the two items is not close if you already run another EP source: Spirited Feather is the flat, reliable one, and Auspicious Bell’s 20% chance of 5 EP is the gamble that pays best on a Somniwing spamming cheap casts. And if you are following a guide written before launch, the rune gacha is gone and no held item has a socket any more, as we documented when it was removed. One item, fifteen enhancement levels, nothing else.

The best Somniwing squad

Somniwing, Leafy, Scorchhowl, Wavwal. Lex names exactly that four at 5:25, with Somniwing on support, Leafy as the second Regen or flex, Scorchhowl on damage and Wavwal opening the break. It is the same four our own Somniwing squad page argues for, which is not a coincidence: the frame he puts on screen at 5:26 is that page.

The best Somniwing squad in Aniimo laid out in four cards: Somniwing Wind Regen, Leafy Grass Regen, Scorchhowl Fire DPS and Wavwal Ice Break, 2,159 total base stats
5:30. Lex reading this site’s Somniwing squad page on camera. The role order is Regen, Regen, DPS, Break, for 2,159 total base stats across the four.

The core of it is not opinion. Leafy and Scorchhowl are the two partners Somniwing’s in-game build panel tags Pairs best in the field, so two of the four slots are the client’s own pick. Wavwal fills the break opener at 575 total base stats, the highest available, and Ice answers Lightning at 1.6×, which is one of the two elements that hits Somniwing hardest.

The honest part: skill multipliers and Potential bands are unpublished, so the last slot is argued from partner data and base stats rather than from a damage test. Lex says the same thing in his own words at 6:22, that this is not the only squad that works and that burst carries such as Stellarys fit her fine.

0:54. Lex dropping Somniwing into the fourth slot of Battle Party 1, next to Stellarys at CP 2480, Blazen at 2047 and Helion at 1782. A Regen slot does not need to out-CP the carry.

If you already run a Light carry, Somniwing has a second home: she is the Regen slot on the Lunara squad, next to Tubster on break and Tromber on support. Our tier list has the wider picture of where a Regen sits against the rest of the roster.

Is Somniwing worth pairing with Scorchhowl?

Yes, and the recommendation runs in both directions. Somniwing’s build panel names Scorchhowl as a field partner, and Scorchhowl’s own squad names Somniwing back, alongside Flamerion and Wavwal. When the game recommends two creatures to each other, that is as close to a confirmed pairing as the launch client gets.

The combo Lex runs at 5:50 is Hypnotic Spores into a Scorchhowl swap. It works for a reason the two cards spell out: the sleep prevents action for 5 seconds and raises damage taken by 25%, and Scorchhowl is a Fire DPS at 511 total base stats whose job is to arrive with one large hit. Put the opener inside the window, not the chip damage.

An Aniimo battle against a level 50 Inferlupa with damage numbers 328, 70 and 47 over the target while Somniwing waits in the fourth party slot
6:44. What the pattern looks like from the other side: Somniwing is parked in slot 4 while the carry spends the window she opened. Her REGEN button is still on the HUD, ready for the swap back.

Lex’s biggest mistake: leaving her on the field

Lex’s call at 6:32 is that players keep supports like Somniwing active for far too long. That is his opinion, and it is worth saying plainly that the data supports it on three separate counts.

First, her damage. ATK 92 and BREAK 50 against a basic attack worth 6 Might: she is 15th of 85 by total base stats and near the bottom of the same list for hurting things. Second, Hypnotic Spores is removed when the target takes damage, so Somniwing attacking a slept enemy is Somniwing cancelling her own buff. Third, Ethereal Light Wave runs for 20 seconds off the field, so the buff does not need her standing there to keep working.

Where we would soften Lex slightly: Energy Orb at full charge is 6× a Might of 30 for 50 EP, which is not nothing when a carry is on cooldown and you have EP to burn. Treat it as the button you press when there is an opening, exactly as he says at 4:26, and not as a reason to stay.

Is Somniwing worth it?

Somniwing casting Butterfly Dance in an Aniimo battle against a level 49 Emberpup, white wings opening over her own, with a Completed Research toast reading Use Ultimate
7:07. Butterfly Dance going off mid-fight. The EP pips under the health bar are what this Ultimate is for: it refills them and does nothing else.

If you are anywhere near 180 Elite Training points, yes, because the points are already being paid for work you were doing. She costs nothing except the claim.

Whether she earns a squad slot is a narrower question. She is worth it when your carry is EP-starved, when the content has projectiles worth absorbing, or when you want a non-Grass boss asleep for a moment. She is not the pick when the fight is already short, when your squad runs a dedicated Support such as Tromber and a healer, or when the enemies are Grass and her control button is dead text.

Lex’s own verdict at 6:53 is that a support-focused squad should absolutely give her a try, and that she raises a team’s damage without ever being the damage. Our data agrees with the shape of that: one free permanent EP buff, one 46 EP Ultimate, one 25% amplifier, and a stat line built for none of it to cost her anything.

How do you get Somniwing in Aniimo?

Through Elite Training. The reward track along the bottom of the Elite Training screen runs to 180 points, with rungs at 10, 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150, and the card at the end of it is Somniwing. Points come from Core Course quests and from the objectives on Path of Twining, Path of Discovery, Path of Victory and Path of Splendor. As of 22 September 2026 there is no other source: our Aniidex records no habitat for Somniwing at all, so she cannot be caught in the wild.

What element is Somniwing, and what is she weak to?

Wind, with Grass second, and her role is Regen rather than Support. On the launch client’s element chart Wind deals 1.6× to Dark and to Grass, is resisted down to 0.625× by Lightning and by other Wind, and takes 1.6× from Lightning and from Light. Those last two are what a Somniwing squad has to answer, which is why an Ice breaker such as Wavwal pairs well: Ice hits Lightning back at 1.6×.

What is the best Somniwing build in Aniimo?

HP first, REGEN second for attribute points, which is the priority order the game prints on Somniwing’s own recommended build panel, and a REGEN carried item. The two the client lists are Spirited Feather, REGEN +10% at Legendary plus 0.7 extra REGEN per level, and Auspicious Bell, REGEN +10% at Legendary plus a 20% chance to gain 5 EP whenever she casts a skill. Lex recommends the same two at 5:00. Both come in Rare, Epic and Legendary at 3%, 5% and 10%.

What does Hypnotic Spores do?

It costs 20 EP on an 18 second cooldown and puts the target into [Sleeping]: the target cannot act for 5 seconds and takes 25% more damage. Two limits are printed on the card itself. The state is removed when the target takes damage, so the amplifier lands on whichever hit arrives first rather than across the whole 5 seconds, and it is ineffective against Grass-type Aniimo. Its Might is 28.

How much EP does Butterfly Dance restore?

On Lex’s level 55 Somniwing the card reads 46 EP, for an Ultimate Cost of 100 on a 20 second cooldown, and it deals no damage at all. The figure scales with Somniwing’s stats, which is why REGEN is the second attribute priority. Two other numbers are in circulation: Lex says 36 in the voiceover on 21 September 2026, and our own index prints 22.5 for the unscaled value. The card on screen is the one to trust for a built Somniwing.

What is the best squad for Somniwing?

Somniwing on Regen, Leafy as the second Regen, Scorchhowl on damage and Wavwal opening the break, which is 2,159 total base stats across the four. Leafy and Scorchhowl are not guesses: both are tagged “Pairs best in the field” on Somniwing’s in-game build panel. Lex names the same four at 5:25. Somniwing also holds the Regen slot on the Lunara squad, beside Tubster and Tromber.

Can Somniwing evolve, and is she a Sparkling Aniimo?

No to both. The Aniidex evolution line for Somniwing has one node, at the Nova stage, so there is nothing to evolve her into and nothing she evolves from. Her morphology is filed as a Prismana Form and her unlock card carries the Prismana tag and a Legendary badge, which is a different system from Sparkling. She weighs between 23.4 and 34.93 kg.
