Rainstorm Luminelle Location in Aniimo, and How to Catch It
A Lightning plus Water Support at the Nova stage, standing at a cave mouth on Tideblossom Coast whenever the sky over that region breaks. AniimoSync walks the route, takes the backstab line round the right side of the channel, and the catch chance on screen goes from 26% to 39% for it. Everything below was read off his screen and checked against the game’s own data files.

The hunt, the capture, the footage and every screenshot on this page by AniimoSync
Rainstorm Luminelle spawns at the mouth of a sea cave on Tideblossom Coast, and the only thing that puts it there is weather: that region has to be rainy or in a thunderstorm. A small blue badge on the region label, and on the creature tile inside the region panel, is the game telling you one is standing there right now.
It is a Lightning plus Water Support at the Nova stage, the weather form of Luminelle, and nothing else gates it: no quest, no item, no fight you have to win first. You read the weather off the world map, walk to the cliffs at the eastern edge of the shallows, and throw. The two things that catch people out are both printed by the game itself. The spawn rule says Only one can appear at a time and it does not respawn, and Tideblossom Coast is a level 54 to 61 region, so the catch percentage over its head will be poor until you come at it from behind.
The hunt below is AniimoSync’s, recorded on 20 September 2026 on the live launch client. Every location, requirement, percentage and skill number was read off his screen rather than off the captions, then checked against the game’s own data files and against our Aniidex entry for the Rainstorm form. Where the two disagree, this page says so.
Where does Rainstorm Luminelle spawn in Aniimo?
In Tideblossom Coast, at a cave mouth on the shoreline, and nowhere else in Idyll. The game prints the location on the creature’s own map card, in three blocks that answer the whole hunt before you have taken a step.
| Field | What the game prints |
|---|---|
| Form | Rainstorm Form, Luminelle |
| Aniimo Location | Tideblossom Coast |
| Region weather in the clip | Thunder |
| Region level band on screen | Lv.54~61 |
| Requirements | Rainy or thunderstorm |
| Spawn rules | Only one can appear at a time and it does not respawn |
| Typing | Lightning plus Water |
| Role and stage | Support, Nova Stage |
| Catalogue number on the capture card | No.079 |
The spawn tables in the game’s own data files agree with the card and go one better: they record a single spawn point for this form, inside Tideblossom Coast, and it never moves. You can open it on our interactive map with the Rainstorm Luminelle zone drawn over Tideblossom Coast and compare it with the ordinary Luminelle zone in the same region: close neighbours, but not the same patch of ground.
One naming note, because the map footer confuses people. The bar along the bottom of the map screen reads Breezy Plains 59% throughout the video. Breezy Plains is the top level area of Idyll that Tideblossom Coast sits inside, not a second location, and the field entry for the Luminelle line in the game’s data files names Breezy Plains for exactly that reason. Our Tideblossom Coast region page uses the same nesting and lists all ten Aniimo of the region.
What weather does Rainstorm Luminelle need?
Rain or a thunderstorm over Tideblossom Coast. Either state works, and no other condition applies. Two windows rather than one roughly doubles the number of chances you get, and it is the same wording the card carries for every Rainstorm form in the game.
Weather in Aniimo is per region, so Tideblossom Coast can be in a thunderstorm while the Sea of Flowers next door is sunny. Below a certain point in a region you simply wait for the sky. Above it you do not: the Branch at a Bloom carries a Change Weather button beside Nurture, and it opens once you hold that region’s Silver Badge at 70% Aniimo Collection Progress and have fed the Branch enough Lumin Amber. Our guide to changing the time of day explains why the Day and Night panel cannot do this, and our Nurture guide shows the Branch screen and the badge ladder. Tideblossom Coast is a late region and the collection bar in this video reads 0%, so for most players the honest answer here is still: watch the map.
AniimoSync says it plainly at the top of the video, and the card behind him agrees: Luminelle spawns during both rain and thunderstorms, so either icon over Tideblossom Coast is worth the trip.
How do you know a weather variant has actually spawned?
The blue badge. This is what AniimoSync leads with, and it is the single most useful habit to build: a region can be rainy without offering anything new, so the weather icon tells you the sky and the badge tells you the creature is there.
Two badges, two meanings, and they are worth separating because they sit side by side in the same roster:
- A blue rain cloud on a tile means a Rainstorm or Thunderstorm form is available in that region right now. Click it for the card with the requirement and the spawn rule on it.
- A prismatic badge on a tile is the Prismana form, which has nothing to do with weather and is chased through Branches and Prismana Flows instead.
The card carries a Habitats button underneath it, and on the sister hunt for Rainstorm Stellarys that button is what drops a tracked marker on the exact spawn. It works the same way here, and the spawn rule on both cards is word for word identical. AniimoSync walks this one by eye instead, which is why the route below is worth reading once.
The walk to the cave
From the Tideblossom Coast Bloom, out across the sandbanks and east towards the red cliffs, to a dark arch at the waterline. Tideblossom Coast has exactly one Bloom, so there is no faster arrival point to argue about: every trip into this region starts from the same place and walks.
Here is where the video earns its length. AniimoSync gives you two ways in, and he is clear about which one he takes: you can either go into the cave and catch Luminelle through the cave, or you can go around the right side and get a backstab, that way you have more of a chance to capture this Aniimo. That is route advice rather than a rule the game prints, and it is his. The screen backs him up a few seconds later.
How do you catch Rainstorm Luminelle?
Throw Aniipods at it from behind. There is no fight, no weakening phase and nothing to break first. What there is, at a level 56 target, is a poor base percentage, and the two multipliers that fix it are both printed on the throw screen.
A few seconds later the same throw is taken without the backstab, and the number moves. That pair is the most useful thing in the video, because it puts a size on a multiplier the game never spells out anywhere else.
| What is applied | Result | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Aniipod Pro alone, Lv.56 target, Lv.47 Pathfinder | 26% | on screen at 1:18 |
| Aniipod Pro plus a backstab, same target | 39% | on screen at 1:12 |
| Aniipod Pro | 1.5x capture chance | the game’s item text |
| Aniipod Mega, Hyper and Track | 2x capture chance | the game’s item text |
| Aniipod Ultra | guaranteed catch, Potential at least Elite | the game’s item text |
| Sparkling Cube | guaranteed catch, Perfect Potential, always Sparkling | the game’s item text |
AniimoSync offers the expensive options as a choice rather than a recommendation, and both check out word for word against the game’s own item text. The Ultra, in his phrasing, is for when you want at least an Elite; the item reads A rare Aniipod that guarantees successful Aniimo capture. The Potential rating of the caught Aniimo will be at least Elite. He also raises the Sparkling Cube for a creature you really want, and that one goes further again: guaranteed capture, Perfect Potential and always Sparkling. Where each of them comes from is laid out in our Aniipod and Sparkling Cube guide, and the full ladder sits in the Aniipod database. On a creature that comes back with the weather, plain Aniipods and a backstab are the sensible spend.
How many Rainstorm Luminelle can you catch?
One per weather occurrence, in the same cave every time. The rule on the card is the mechanical version: Only one can appear at a time and it does not respawn. AniimoSync gives the practical one, and the two agree: this Aniimo can spawn multiple times, you just have to wait for the next weather condition to happen, so if you catch a Good one and do not like it you can come back later.
- The place is fixed. Learn the cave once and every future storm is a short walk from the Bloom.
- One capture, then the window is spent. Nothing else appears while that rain lasts, so there is no reason to wait around after the catch.
- Rain and thunder both count. Either sky over Tideblossom Coast opens it again.
That makes several copies a question of how often you look at the map rather than of luck, which matters here because Potential and personality are rolled at capture. If you are farming this spawn across a few storms for a better roll, read our guide to which Aniimo to keep before you release anything. The one caught in this video comes out INFP, which the Aniimo screen prints under the portrait.
Luminelle not spawning? Check which Luminelle you want
Three Luminelle entries, three different conditions, and mixing them up is the most common reason the hunt fails. They also share one region, which does not help.
| Entry | Condition | Where the condition comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Luminelle, Basic Form | Nighttime | the field entry in the game’s own data files, 1 spawn point |
| Luminelle, Rainstorm Form | Rainy or thunderstorm | the Requirements block on its map card, 0:19 |
| Luminelle, Prismana Form | a Prismana Flow, not weather | the prismatic badge on its roster tile, 0:19 |
| Bulbly and Veilfloat | Nighttime | the same field entries, 65 and 8 spawn points |
So a clear night gets you the yellow Luminelle and the two stages below it, a storm gets you the blue one, and neither substitutes for the other. We are stating each with its own source rather than merging them, because the game does: the Rainstorm card never mentions night, and the field entry for the base species never mentions weather.
The other honest reason a hunt comes up empty is the spawn rule itself. One Rainstorm Luminelle exists at a time, so if you have already caught one this storm, the cave stays empty until the weather turns over. And the base species is rare in a way the data makes plain: in Tideblossom Coast, Bulbly has 65 recorded spawn points, Veilfloat has 8, and Luminelle has one. Catching a Bulbly at night and walking it up the line is usually faster than hunting the adult, and the region page lists every spawn condition in Tideblossom Coast in one place.
Where is Alpha Luminelle?
Tideblossom Coast has exactly one Alpha Aniimo pinned inside its outline, and it is Luminelle. Our map survey puts that pin a short way east of the Rainstorm cave and all but on top of the ordinary Luminelle spawn zone, and the game’s own text on it tells you when to look: Follow the shooting stars across the night sky to find this Aniimo.
That is as far as our data goes, and it is worth being straight about the limit. This video does not show the Alpha. AniimoSync is hunting the weather form, and the Alpha Antagonist objective above is a separate task asking for twelve different Alpha or Omega defeats across Idyll. We have no footage of an Alpha Luminelle fight, so this page does not describe one: what we can say is where it stands, that the pin marks it as a night creature, and that this lines up with the Nighttime condition the base species carries in the field data.
Rainstorm Luminelle stats, skills and typing
The numbers and the kit are identical to the Basic form. The element line is the only thing that moves, from Lightning to Lightning plus Water, and it moves further than it looks. Five combat skills, one innate Ultimate, one trait, and a stat block shared by all three forms.
| Luminelle, Basic Form | Luminelle, Rainstorm Form | |
|---|---|---|
| Elements | Lightning | Lightning plus Water |
| Role and stage | Support, Nova Stage | Support, Nova Stage |
| Base stats | HP 110 · P.ATK 115 · M.ATK 50 · P.DEF 75 · M.DEF 75 · HASTE 90, total 515 | |
| Combat skills | Lightning Surge · Healing Impact · Water Rush · Lightning Discharge · Swift Retreat | |
| Ultimate | Self-Destruction, Might 80 | |
| Trait | Arc Surge | |
| Out of combat | Glow | |
| Takes 2.56x damage from | nothing | Ice |
| Takes 1.6x damage from | Dark, Ice | Grass |
| Takes 0.625x damage from | Lightning, Light, Wind | Fire, Light, Earth, Water, Wind |
| Where it spawns | Tideblossom Coast, at night | Tideblossom Coast, rain or thunderstorm only |
Those matchup rows come from our element chart, which reads the multipliers straight out of the game’s own data files, and they are why this is a trade rather than a free upgrade. A two element body multiplies its two defensive matchups together. Lightning resists Lightning while Water is weak to it, so those cancel to neutral; Dark is strong into Lightning and weak into Water, so that cancels too. But Ice is strong into both halves at once, and 1.6 times 1.6 is 2.56, so an Ice attack lands on a Rainstorm Luminelle for well over double. In exchange, Fire, Earth and Water all drop to 0.625x, and the body ends up with a single neutral matchup left on the whole chart.
The short version for squad building: the Rainstorm body is the better one against Fire, Earth, Water and Dark, and a liability against Ice. Having both in the Aniilog is genuinely useful, and the team builder will tell you which of the two the squad you already run actually wants.
One skill number is worth pinning down, because our own pages carry a different one. The Core skill Lightning Surge costs nothing, sits on an 18 second cooldown, and its tooltip on this freshly caught creature reads: Lightning-type squadmates’ basic attack damage increases by 36% and their BREAK efficiency by 20%, for 20s. Our best Aniimo for every role page quotes 17% and 10% for the same skill, from the base parameters, and both are right: the skill text says the buff scales with the Aniimo’s stats, so the figure in your tooltip depends on the creature. The trait, Arc Surge, stacks on top by adding a Lightning boost to any squadmate that receives one of those buffs. The other four are Healing Impact and Water Rush, channelled beams that heal allies in range for 3% HP a second, Lightning Discharge, which does the same for Lightning allies, and Swift Retreat, a dodge that leaves a jellyfish clone behind. AniimoSync reads the same five off the screen and invites you to screenshot the panel, which is fair: it is a lot of kit for a free catch.
What are Rainstorm Luminelle’s Homeland abilities?
Water Level 2, Lightning Level 3 and Artisanship Level 3, at Habitability 100 and 120 Bud Tickets a day. Three levelled abilities on one worker is unusually strong, and the Water line is the one the weather form adds.
Set that against the base form and the gain is exact. The field entry in the game’s own data files gives the Basic Form Lightning 3 and Artisanship 3, with no Water line at all. The Rainstorm form keeps both and adds Water Level 2: the second element turning up as labour rather than as damage. AniimoSync calls it very solid in the Homeland and he is right.
One correction to our own pages rather than to his, and it is the reason to read this section. Our Homeland guide records the Rainstorm form as Lightning 4 and Water 4, taken from a worker sheet written before launch. The live client at 1:32 says Water Level 2, Lightning Level 3, Artisanship Level 3. The screen wins, and the guide is the page that needs updating; what each ability type unlocks, and how Habitability and Bud Tickets feed the rest of the base, is still explained there correctly.
Forms, the Aniilog entry and the evolution line
Luminelle has three form slots, and catching the Rainstorm one fills the second of them. The Forms tab is also where the small permanent reward for doing it lives.
Our complete forms guide covers the whole system: 20 weather forms in the launch client, 11 Snowfield, 6 Rainstorm and 3 Thunderstorm, plus the terrain forms and the Prismana tier above them. The Thunderstorm side of it works identically, and Thunderstorm Thornblade in the Sea of Flowers is the one to read next if you want a second weather hunt on the same trip. The line itself is one of the few three stage families in the game: Bulbly at the Lumin stage becomes Veilfloat at Gamma, which becomes Luminelle at Nova. All three share the Arc Surge trait and all three live in Tideblossom Coast. A weather form is not part of that chain: it is a second body for the finished creature, so catching a Rainstorm Luminelle skips nothing, and evolving a Bulbly will never produce one.
Is Rainstorm Luminelle worth catching?
Yes, and the case is the same as for every weather form: it costs a walk. No quest, no boss, a handful of Aniipods, and you come away with a Nova stage Support that doubles as a three ability Homeland worker.
Where it earns a slot in a squad is narrower than the stat sheet suggests. Luminelle is not a general Support: it is a Lightning multiplier, at its best on a bench that is already Lightning, where Lightning Surge and Arc Surge both find something to buff. Our best Aniimo for every role page ranks it behind Fulmintis for that job, and the squads page shows the all Lightning line up it belongs to. The Water half changes none of that, and the Ice weakness is a real cost, so treat the Rainstorm body as a second option in the Aniilog rather than as the one you always field. Where it sits against everything else is on the tier list.
AniimoSync’s own summary is that this is an awesome addition to any squad, especially if you need a Homeland Aniimo, and on the Homeland half of that we agree without reservation. Water 2, Lightning 3 and Artisanship 3 on one body, at Habitability 100, is a lot of free labour for something you can pick up any time it rains on Tideblossom Coast. The catch is that it only rains when it rains, which is exactly what the Silver Badge and the Change Weather button are for.
