Aniimo Who’s That Aniimo?: the Budclaw Answer and Where It Is

The event hands you a black silhouette and five clue tags, and the way to answer it is a photograph rather than a guess. Trophy Tom solved one clue set on camera on launch day: the five clues, the Habitat button that opens the map, the teleport point, the exact patch of flowers the answer sits in, and the upload screen that turns a photo into a tick. That day the answer was Budclaw.

Who’s That Aniimo? is a photo hunt in the Events menu: the game shows you a black silhouette with five clue tags pinned to it, and you answer by photographing the creature rather than by picking a name off a list. In the clue set Trophy Tom solved on launch day the five clues were Earth Element, Basic, Lumin Stage, BREAK and No special Pathfinding abilities, and the answer was Budclaw, grazing on the dirt path at Freshsprout Hill in Nimbus Fields.

The clever part is the middle step. Each photo of an Aniimo that shares a trait with the hidden target reveals that part of the silhouette, so the event can be played as a process of elimination. It can also be short-circuited: photograph the right creature straight away and every clue ticks at once.

Everything below was read off Trophy Tom’s screen, recorded on 16 September 2026, the day the first window opened. It is one clue set, on one account, on one day. Where the video does not show something, this page says so instead of filling the gap.

What is the answer to Who’s That Aniimo?

In this clue set it is Budclaw, the Earth and Grass mossy-shelled Aniimo, and it is photographed at Freshsprout Hill in Nimbus Fields, Breezy Plains. The upload screen prints the confirmation itself: Identification Complete, with a tick against Earth Element, Basic, Lumin Stage, BREAK and No special Pathfinding abilities.

1:13, the moment the answer lands. The photo is stamped Breezy Plains and 09/16/2026 01:01:48 PM UTC+0, and the five clue chips down the right side all carry a tick. The banner reads Identification Complete.

Read that against Budclaw’s Aniidex entry and the four checkable clues line up exactly: element Earth, morphology Basic Form, stage Lumin, role Break. The fifth is the game’s own classification, and there is no field for it on our pages yet.

The whole run, in order

  1. Main menu, then Events, then Who’s That Aniimo? in the list on the left.
  2. Read the five clue tags around the silhouette. Ticked means confirmed.
  3. Press Go on the Habitat card. The world map opens on the right region.
  4. Teleport to Freshsprout Hill, Lv.17~21, in Nimbus Fields.
  5. Follow the dirt path east through the blue and purple flowers.
  6. Open the radial menu and pick Snap to enter photo mode.
  7. Frame Budclaw until Target Appeared! shows, then press the shutter.
  8. Back to the event panel, press the album button, choose the photo, press Upload.
  9. Read Identification Complete, and collect both rewards.

What Who’s That Aniimo? actually is

It is an event panel, not a world activity. Open the main menu, choose Events, and Who’s That Aniimo? is one of the entries in the list down the left side of the screen.

The Aniimo main menu open in the field, with Inventory, Aniimo Management, Aniilog, Character, Events, Elite Training and Homeland tiles beside the Pathfinder
1:01, the way in. Events is the calendar tile in the fourth row of the main menu, between Character and Elite Training, and it carries a gift badge whenever something inside is unclaimed.

The panel itself is one screen with three columns. Left is the investigation board: a black silhouette with clue tags pinned around it. Middle is a speech bubble spelling out the mechanic. Right is the reward column and the Habitat card. Along the bottom runs the event’s reward track.

0:06, the whole panel. Header: Study the silhouette, gather the clues, and guess the mystery Aniimo! The timer beside it reads Event Ending In 8d 16h, taken on the first day of the 16 to 24 September window.

The speech bubble is the rule, and it is worth reading twice: Take a photo of an Aniimo that shares a trait with the target to reveal that part of the silhouette. So every photograph you upload is a question. Photograph any Earth Aniimo and the Earth Element clue resolves, whether or not that creature is the answer.

The five clues, word for word

There are five clue tags, and a tick on a tag means that trait is confirmed. In the recording four were already ticked and the fifth, Earth Element, was still sitting on an unrevealed card in the middle of the board.

One caveat on the fifth clue, because our own pages could read as a contradiction. Budclaw’s Aniidex entry lists a mobility skill called Tunnel, whose description is a combat state rather than a way of crossing terrain. The event counts Budclaw as having no Pathfinding ability, and the ticked chip on the upload screen is the game saying so.

The Habitat button does the hard part for you

The right hand column ends with a card marked Habitat: a thumbnail of the region the target lives in, with a Go button on it. Pressing Go opens the world map already centred there.

That card is the single biggest shortcut in the event. It narrows a whole continent to one region before you have guessed anything, which is why the clue tags are worth reading first and the map second.

Where is Budclaw? Freshsprout Hill, in Nimbus Fields

Teleport to Freshsprout Hill. It is a teleport point inside Nimbus Fields, in the west of Breezy Plains, and it carries the level band Lv.17~21.

From the landing point the route is short and needs no climbing: follow the dirt path east, with blue flowers banked on one side and purple on the other, past a stream, a fallen log and a cluster of pale boulders. Budclaw graze along that path in loose groups of two or three.

Taking the photo

Open the radial menu and choose Snap, the camera icon in the middle ring. Frame the creature until a yellow Target Appeared! banner drops over the focus reticle, then press the shutter.

0:51, the confirmation to wait for. Target Appeared! over the reticle means the game has recognised a subject. The rail on the right is the same one our photo mode guide walks through: Creative, Track, shutter, Time Stop, Reset.

Do not shoot from across the field. The album screen prints the reason in its own words: Photos that are too distant or blurry may be rejected. Try taking clear, close-up photos of Aniimo! Time Stop on the rail is there for exactly this, because Budclaw wander while you frame them.

Uploading it

Go back to Events, open Who’s That Aniimo?, and press the album button at the bottom right of the panel. Pick the photo from the strip and press Upload.

The photo comes back with the trait list beside it, one chip at a time, and the panel behind it updates. Anything the picture proves gets ticked whether you were aiming for it or not, which is why an early photograph of the right creature settles the whole board in one go.

1:15, solved. The silhouette is gone and Budclaw is standing in its place, all five tags ticked, the Habitat card replaced by a Completed stamp, and the button under it reading Investigation Complete. The counter bottom left has gone from 4/5 to 5/5.

Rewards

The panel lists two photo rewards, and both are paid in items whose names the screen never prints. We can report the icons and the quantities, because that is all the game shows here.

  • Take a photo of the correct Aniimo. 100 of a blue crystal in a glass bubble, the same icon the area completion panel pays out in.
  • Take a photo of the Aniimo before the full silhouette is revealed. 50 of a green and white item on a purple rarity tile.

Under the panel runs the event’s own reward track, with gift milestones at 1, 3 and 5: a violet gem at 50 for the first, an Aniimo at 1 for the third, an egg at 1 for the fifth.

0:06, the track along the bottom of the Events screen, cropped at native size and scaled down to fit. It read 4/5 before this photo and 5/5 after it. The video never opens the track itself, so it does not show whether the 5 counts clues or completed investigations, and we are not going to guess.

If you are hunting for items rather than clues, the Aniimo codes page is the other place with a reward icon and no explanation, and it lists what each code actually pays.

The bonus you lose by solving it late

The second reward is paid for guessing early: take a photo of the Aniimo before the full silhouette is revealed. In the recording the board stood at four clues out of five when the photo was uploaded, so both rewards were live at once and both carried a gift badge afterwards.

That turns the event’s own design against itself in a useful way. The process of elimination the clue tags invite you into is exactly what forfeits the bonus, because the fifth tick reveals the silhouette. If you already know the answer, or you have read it here, photograph it first and collect both.

The three windows

Who’s That Aniimo? runs three times on the launch calendar: 16 to 24 September, 2 to 8 October and 16 to 22 October 2026. The timer in the recording read 8d 16h on 16 September, which fits the first window closing on the 24th.

The event page carries the dates, the reward lines and the FAQ, and the calendar shows what else is running beside it. Nothing published says whether progress carries between windows, so treat each one as its own run.

What this page does not cover yet

One video, one day, one clue set. Here is the honest list of what that leaves open.

  • Whether the clue set rotates. The recording covers a single investigation on 16 September. It does not show a second one, so we cannot say whether the target changes daily, per investigation, or per window.
  • How many investigations a window holds. The counter reads out of 5, and that is all it says.
  • The reward item names. The panel shows icons and quantities and never names them.
  • The October windows. No footage exists yet.

When a second clue set is recorded we will add it here with its answer and its location, in the same format. Until then, the useful part of this page is the method: read the tags, press Go under Habitat, teleport, photograph the first creature that matches all five, and upload it before the silhouette fills in.

What is the answer to Who’s That Aniimo? in Aniimo?

In the clue set Trophy Tom solved on 16 September 2026, the first day of the 16 to 24 September window, the answer is Budclaw. The five clues were Earth Element, Basic, Lumin Stage, BREAK and No special Pathfinding abilities, and all five ticked the moment a photo of Budclaw was uploaded. The video covers that one investigation, so it is the answer to that clue set rather than to every day of the event.

Where do you find Budclaw in Aniimo?

Teleport to Freshsprout Hill, a teleport point inside Nimbus Fields in the west of Breezy Plains, level band Lv.17~21. From the landing point follow the dirt path east through the band of blue and purple flowers, past the stream, the fallen log and the pale boulders. Budclaw graze along that path in groups of two or three. Its Aniidex entry also lists Zephyrus Landbridge, Berylline Causeway and Beast Fang Ridge.

How does Who’s That Aniimo? work in Aniimo?

The event panel shows a black silhouette with five clue tags pinned around it, and the instruction on screen is: take a photo of an Aniimo that shares a trait with the target to reveal that part of the silhouette. So you photograph creatures and upload the pictures, and every trait the photo proves ticks its clue. Photographing the correct Aniimo ticks all five at once and completes the investigation.

Where is the Who’s That Aniimo? event in the menus?

Open the main menu and choose Events. Who’s That Aniimo? is in the list down the left side of the Events screen, under Idyll Ecological Investigation and above SPARKELF x Aniimo. The panel has the silhouette and clue tags on the left, the reward rows and a Habitat card on the right, and the camera and album buttons under them.

How do you upload a photo for Who’s That Aniimo?

Take the picture in photo mode, which you enter from the radial menu by choosing Snap, then return to Events, open Who’s That Aniimo? and press the album button at the bottom right of the panel. Pick the photo from the strip of recent shots and press Upload. The screen warns that photos which are too distant or blurry may be rejected, so shoot close and wait for the Target Appeared! banner before pressing the shutter.

What are the Who’s That Aniimo? rewards?

The panel lists two: 100 of a blue crystal item for a photo of the correct Aniimo, and 50 of a green item for photographing the Aniimo before the full silhouette is revealed. The game shows the icons and the quantities but never prints the item names on this screen. Under the panel runs a reward track with gift milestones at 1, 3 and 5, holding a violet gem at 50, an Aniimo and an egg.

How do you get the bonus reward in Who’s That Aniimo?

Upload the photo of the correct Aniimo before the last clue is revealed. The reward line reads take a photo of the Aniimo before the full silhouette is revealed, so working through the clues one by one until the silhouette fills in is exactly what forfeits it. In the recording the board stood at four clues out of five when the photo went up, and both rewards were still claimable afterwards.

When does Who’s That Aniimo? run?

Three windows on the launch calendar: 16 to 24 September, 2 to 8 October and 16 to 22 October 2026. The in-game timer read Event Ending In 8d 16h on 16 September, which matches the first window ending on the 24th. Nothing published says whether progress carries from one window to the next.
