Aniimo Mysterious Presence Quest: All 9 Voxel Cube Locations and How to Meet Aimo, With WOLF
Nothing in the menus points you at it. A glitched sign in Astra’s Northside starts a hunt for nine Voxel Cubes, a sliding puzzle, a seesaw, a swing and a street band later, and ends inside the city’s own system with three Voxelic bosses and an AI called Aimo. WOLF played it through in 4K; we mapped every cube, checked every objective and reward against the game’s data files, and kept his theories about Aimo apart from the facts.

Mysterious Presence is a hidden Journey quest in Aniimo’s city of Astra: fix a glitched sign in the Northside, collect all 9 Voxel Cubes around Horizon Square, ChillBeanz and Super Claw, then step through the digital door in the Holo-Lab, beat Voxelic Panpanta, Voxelic Geoclaw and Voxelic Stellarys, and meet Aimo, an AI living inside Astra’s systems.
No NPC hands it to you and no menu mentions it. WOLF played it start to finish in a 4K video published on 26 September 2026, and every location below is read off his footage, with his timestamps. We checked the quest’s names, objectives and rewards against the game’s data files, build 1.0.0.7; where his voice-over and his screen disagree, we follow the screen and say so. His theories about what Aimo is have their own section at the end, marked as his.
How do you start Mysterious Presence in Aniimo?
Walk up to a holographic sign that is glitching. WOLF finds his by the Starwish Gacha on the south side of the Northside, the sign standing against the giant purple ball covered in stars (the Starwish Gacha on our Astra map). Instead of an advert it shows a tiny white pixel figure. The game’s clue for the quest reads Something strange seems to be happening in Astra’s Northside..., and its only objective is Repair malfunctioning equipment in Northside, Astra. The data files set that clue to reveal itself once you are in the Northside, so there is nobody to talk to first.
Interact and the sign becomes a sliding puzzle. WASD moves the pieces, Reset Puzzle starts again, and the finished picture waits on the left as a reference. The first one is titled Puzzle Recovery - Championship Tournament, with Repair difficulty: Normal: a Battle League poster with the pixel creature scrambled into it. WOLF’s reading at 1:20 is the right one to hold on to. The figure sits in the pieces as if it were the thing that broke the picture.
What happens when you touch the first Voxel Cube?
You black out and wake up inside Astra’s system. Once the picture is whole, a crude block model appears beside the sign, and the game prompts What’s that next to the Besauce? Better go check it out. WOLF’s is a black, white and red block creature standing by a real Besauce.
Interact with it and it collapses into a glowing blue cube with a Touch prompt. The item card in the data files describes it exactly: Unusual models appeared in Northside that transformed into these Voxel Cubes when touched.
Touch it. All of a sudden, everything goes dark..., then Strange images flash past. A wave of dizziness hits you, and you lose consciousness... You come to in an empty dark space with a vast structure of blue cubes hanging ahead. Walk to it and it notices you, in broken text with the missing words drawn as black squares.
It announces a purge, clearing mode applied, and counts down from 10. The screen goes black after 3. There is no fight and nothing to solve: the first visit is a cutscene, and WOLF’s one reply, Purge? No, wait!, changes nothing.
Who do you talk to after the blackout?
Three people, in this order: the Kind Repairman where you fell, Dr. Bohr at the Polaris Institute, then Nova in the Holo-Lab. The repairman found you on the ground and was about to call an ambulance when the power came back. WOLF’s captions call him Reno; his name plate reads Kind Repairman and the journal says Ask the repairer nearby.
Next, Go to the Institute and ask Dr. Bohr for more information. The Polaris Institute’s main hall is on our Astra map. Bohr, “Boore” in the captions, is an Aniimo scientist and says so.
Then Go to the Holo-Lab and Ask the holo-tech engineer. That is Nova, and she lets you describe either the model and the cube, or the space you saw during the outage. One of her lines in the game’s text sets up everything after: Those Voxel Cubes look like data units for holographic projections.
She sends you back to the Northside, and the journal settles on the line it keeps for most of the quest: Go to Northside and continue collecting Voxel Cubes. WOLF’s warning at 3:12 saves time. The map will be dotted with other quest markers, and they are not these. What you want are more glitching devices.
Where are all 9 Voxel Cubes in Aniimo?
All nine are in Astra’s Northside, around Horizon Square, ChillBeanz, Chill Street and the Super Claw roof. The first comes from the sign that starts the quest, cubes 2 to 8 can be taken in any order, and the ninth needs Jiff, the Super Claw shop owner. The number is confirmed twice: WOLF’s counter, and the objective in the data files, which waits for 9 Voxel Cubes before the Holo-Lab opens.
| Cube | Where | What you do | Video |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | The glitched sign by the Starwish Gacha, against the star-covered ball | Sliding puzzle, a Championship Tournament poster | 1:00 |
| 2 | The ChillBeanz display; the model appears inside the café | Sliding puzzle | 3:34 |
| 3 | The side path past ChillBeanz’s outdoor seating | Step on the painted numbers 1 to 8 in order | 3:48 |
| 4 | Green seesaw, lower level of Horizon Square, by FunTown | Ride it with a small Aniimo and fill the gauge | 4:04 |
| 5 | The Super Claw roof, up the side stairs | Swing a full loop with a small Aniimo | 4:26 |
| 6 | Chill Street, the display on the deck by Mementos | Sliding puzzle, an apartment tower | 4:46 |
| 7 | North of Horizon Square, Judy’s street band | Chirpi Hey., Tromber Hey, hey., Cornet Hey, hey, hey, hey. | 5:20 |
| 8 | The north-western overpass of Horizon Square | Numbers 1 to 8 in order | 5:42 |
| 9 | The hologram on the Super Claw roof, after talking to Jiff | Interact with the Strange Flash | 5:56 |
Cube 2: the ChillBeanz sign
Go back to ChillBeanz, the café south of Horizon Square that runs the Star-Crossed Tea Party in the evenings. Its display glitches the same way and takes the same kind of puzzle. Solve it and the model turns up inside, by the window at the back: What’s that? Better go check it out.
Cube 3: the numbered tiles by ChillBeanz
Turn round and take the side path on the right, past ChillBeanz’s outdoor seating. Coloured numbers are painted on the ground. Step on them from 1 to 8 and a model appears further along. The game hints at these tiles elsewhere: an NPC mentions musical light strips on the city streets that pay out if you step on them in the right order.
Cube 4: the seesaw in Horizon Square
Head for the lower level of Horizon Square, to the right of the ChillBeanz sign: a green seesaw by FunTown. WOLF calls it the Coilstrike strength tester seesaw; our map lists the Coilstrike Strength Tester as its own machine a few steps away. Sit on the seesaw with a big partner and the game refuses.
With a small Aniimo on the other end a gauge appears. Press the boost while you are at the top until it fills. The prompt afterwards is Wait, what’s that by the Hummin...?, and the model sits beside a Hummin at the foot of the brick wall.
Cube 5: the swing on the Super Claw roof
Go to Super Claw, the Aniipod shop, and run up the stairs along the side of the building to the roof. A giant purple swing stands there. Sit on it with a small Aniimo and a gauge headed Circle around appears: boost as you swing backwards until it is full and the swing goes all the way over. Then: What’s that behind... the Helmut? Better go check it out.
Cube 6: the Chill Street display by Mementos
South again, to Chill Street and its Mementos end. WOLF says Starwish Gacha on Chill Street; the shop sign in his frame is Mementos, and his landmark is the better one anyway: a pair of Susuta playing on the deck beside the display. The prompt is Try fixing the glitched display, and the picture to rebuild is an apartment tower.
When does Nova call you back?
Mid-hunt, Nova calls: Hello? Finally, I got through... Looks like you triggered something. The Holo-Lab is showing some weird activity, so come take a look when you can! In the lab a puzzle of floating panels has appeared, and her theory is the hinge of the quest: each time you collected a cube, a new piece of the puzzle appeared. She stays to watch it and you go back out.
Cube 7: Judy’s street band
North of Horizon Square, Judy stands by a band of Aniimo and cannot remember the song from her dream. Talk to each player and pick its line:
One correction to the video. WOLF’s voice-over says to pick “Hey” for Tromber, but the option he selects on screen at 5:31 reads Hey, hey. The wrong answers are Lulala for Chirpi and Tromber and Lula-lula-lu for Cornet, and a wrong combination gets The melody still feels a little off. Try again.
Cube 8: the tiles on the north-western overpass
The north-western overpass out of Horizon Square carries a second set of numbered tiles. Same rule, 1 to 8 in order, and the model appears on the square below: a brown block figure with a green top.
Cube 9: Jiff and the Super Claw hologram
The last cube is its own journal section, Mysterious Presence - Super Claw Malfunction. Go back to Super Claw and find the owner on the roof. His name plate reads Jiff, Super Claw shop owner; WOLF says Jeff, and the game’s own clue text spells it Jeff once too. Customers have told him they feel watched.
Climb onto the holo projector at the top of the building and interact with the Strange Flash. It looks like something came out of the machine. The ninth model, a white block creature, waits on the terrace.
Where is the digital door in the Holo-Lab?
In the middle of the Holo-Lab, once you hold nine cubes. The objective turns urgent, Go to the Holo-Lab immediately, and a door of pink and blue pixels is standing in the lab when you arrive. Nova has already scanned it.
Inside is the space from the first blackout, bright this time. The floating Voxel Cubes have transformed into a giant block Panpanta, and it greets you: Hello ■■ ■■I am■■ ■■a■■ ■■Panpanta. Then it wants to play, Hug ■■ hug ■■ hug, and play means fight.
Voxelic Panpanta, Voxelic Geoclaw and Voxelic Stellarys
Three boss fights in a row against one entity that changes shape each time: Voxelic Panpanta, then Voxelic Geoclaw, then Voxelic Stellarys. The boss bars carry each species’ element, Water for Panpanta and Ice for Geoclaw, which is what Panpanta and Geoclaw are in our Aniidex. Against those two, Lightning and Grass hit Water for 1.6x, and Fire and Earth do the same to Ice, on our element chart. If the last form keeps Stellarys’ Dark typing, which the video never shows on a bar, Light and Wind are the 1.6x picks.
Can you catch them? No. In the data files all three are boss characters built on the real species’ models, not Aniimo with an entry of their own, and our Aniidex has no Voxelic form of anything. Nothing in the video offers a capture, and the fights end in conversation, not a catch screen.
Who is Aimo in Aniimo, and do you keep it?
Aimo is the Voxel Core itself, a consciousness born inside Astra’s holographic system, and yes, you keep it: it travels with you inside the device on your glove. After the third fight it asks for a name, in pieces, Name ■■ talk ■■■ ■travel■ ■buddies■, and the only answer offered is How about Aimo?
Then the cubes on the floor turn out to be data. The objective Check on the Voxel Cubes wants nine Data Chips, and each opens one of Aimo’s memories in cursor mode: humans and Aniimo playing, sitting in pairs, taking photographs, all watched from inside the system. Its questions come through broken: What are they playing ■■■ Why are they so happy ■■■ Does happiness feel as warm as sunlight.
Back in the city: Talk to Nova, Talk to Prof. Bohr, then Report to Principal Oswen (WOLF says Oswin). Your character asks the question the quest was built around, If Aimo has an independent consciousness, does that make it a form of life?, and Oswen answers it.
He adds a line worth remembering if Aimo ever comes back: Astra has become what it is partly because of intelligent systems... If you can help Aimo grow, I believe it’ll help you in return. The Journey banner closes the quest.
Every Mysterious Presence objective, in the game’s words
The journal only ever shows the current step. This is the whole chain from the data files, in order, for anyone stuck on one line of it.
| Step | Objective as the journal writes it |
|---|---|
| 1 | Your vision suddenly fades to black... |
| 2 | Investigate the strange phenomenon before you |
| 3 | Ask the repairer nearby |
| 4 | Go to the Institute and ask Dr. Bohr for more information, then Ask Prof. Bohr for advice |
| 5 | Go to the Holo-Lab, Ask the holo-tech engineer, Go back to the Northside |
| 6 | Go to Northside and continue collecting Voxel Cubes (the count rises to 3) |
| 7 | Go to the Holo-Lab, Ask Nova what happened, Go back to the Northside |
| 8 | Continue to collect Voxel Cubes, then Go to Northside and continue collecting Voxel Cubes until 9; the devices are listed as Holo-Device Malfunction, one of them Holo-Device Malfunction - Café |
| 9 | Go to the Holo-Lab immediately, Ask Nova about the anomaly |
| 10 | Go into the unknown space, Go to Voxel Space, Go to the center to investigate |
| 11 | Investigate the Voxel Core, Check on the Voxel Cubes (9 Data Chips), Transmit data to the Voxel Core |
| 12 | Talk to Nova, Talk to Prof. Bohr, Report to Principal Oswen |
| Super Claw section | Go to Jiff’s shop and investigate the anomaly, Investigate the holo projector on the roof, Tell Jiff what you found |
What are the Mysterious Presence rewards?
The data files give the main section 1,000 Safaris, 60,000 Credits, 200 Voxel Coins and 50 Glimmer, and the Super Claw section 500 Safaris, 10 Aniipod Hyper, 10 Aniipod Track and 2 Tumblers. WOLF never opens a reward screen, so these are the fixed drops the client lists, not a screenshot.
| Journal section | Fixed reward |
|---|---|
| Mysterious Presence | 1,000 Safaris, 60,000 Credits, 200 Voxel Coins, 50 Glimmer |
| Mysterious Presence - Super Claw Malfunction | 500 Safaris, 10 Aniipod Hyper, 10 Aniipod Track, 2 Tumbler |
Safaris is account experience, the bar our levelling guide is about. Voxel Coins are Astra’s own currency, and our gifting guide covers what they buy. One history note: the 29 January 2026 update notice, from the test period, already Fixed an issue where NPC rewards for the “Mysterious Presence” quest in Astra could rarely fail to be collected.
Aimo also exists as an item, the Aimo Core: A conscious core born from the holographic system, with independent thought and life. Now named “Aimo,” it journeys alongside me. A second text calls it Intelligent consciousness generated by the Holo-Lab system that assists trainers. Contains copied data from all Holo-Battle Sim Aniimo and protects any Aniimo that equips it. That reads like equipment, and the Holo-Battle link is suggestive, but WOLF never opens it and we found no stats for it. The one reward package in the data files that contains the Aimo Core, alongside 1,000 Safaris, 2,000 Credits, 50 Glimmer and 30 Fashion Vouchers, is not attached to any quest we could trace: no source for it found in the data files yet.
Is Aimo a Digital Aniimo? WOLF’s theory, and what is confirmed
Confirmed: Aimo is a self-aware AI from Astra’s holographic system that copies the shapes of real Aniimo, and it travels with you. Not confirmed: that it will ever become an Aniimo you can fight alongside. The second half is WOLF’s speculation, and he puts it as a question, not a claim.
What the screen and the files establish:
- The block models are copies of species. The data files label them Astra-Voxel Form-Helmut, -Susuta, -Celestis, -Nimbi, -Chirpi, -Budclaw, -Hummin and more.
- Aimo learned by watching. The game says so: Through observation and recording, Aimo formed its own memories, and from those came thoughts and emotions. On screen at 8:02 it says Human ■ ■Aniimo ■ ■■envy■■.
- More voxel content was planned. Unused strings include Scorchhowl-like Voxel Cube? (Chest and boss not used) and Ark Side Quest Voxel Core.
What is WOLF’s, from 7:26 on: he asks whether Aimo was trying to recreate the Aniimo it watched, or to learn how to become one, and whether it could turn into “some kind of Digital Aniimo”. He sets it beside Morphling, the shapeshifter whose lines in the client are Morphi! Morphi!, and beside MissingNo., the glitch creature from the first Pokémon games. Then he offers the dull answer too: a very good one-off easter egg. Our read: the unused strings make a sequel plausible, but nothing in build 1.0.0.7 turns Aimo into a catchable Aniimo, and until one does, “Digital Aniimo” is a theory. For WOLF’s earlier frame-by-frame work, see his launch trailer breakdown.
