What is Idyll Ecological Investigation?
Idyll Ecological Investigation appeared three times on the launch calendar: 16 to 20 September, 2 to 8 October and 16 to 22 October 2026. The official Update Notice of 27 October 2026 adds three Part 2 phases on the same dates as Who’s That Aniimo?: 30 October to 5 November, 13 to 19 November and 27 November to 3 December (UTC+8 days), unlock Student I.
The notice is the first source to describe it. Each phase, Polaris Institute publishes an ecological survey list; you catch the Aniimo on it to complete each survey and earn survey points, and point totals unlock stage rewards.
Each target pays points only the first time its survey is completed, and only a catch in the exact form listed counts. A target not yet recorded in your Index pays double points the first time.
Official description
During the event, Polaris Institute will release an Aniimo ecological survey list for the phase. Pathfinders must go and catch the corresponding Aniimo according to the list, assist in completing the ecological survey, and earn survey points. After cumulative points reach the specified requirement, you can claim the corresponding stage rewards.

Tips
Check the list against your Index first: a target you have never recorded pays double points.
Mind the form. Only a catch in the same form as the listed Aniimo completes its survey.

Does it clash with anything else?
Every Part 2 phase shares its dates with Who’s That Aniimo?, and each one contains an Eggceleration weekend: 30 October to 1 November, 13 to 15 November and 27 to 29 November 2026. In Part 1 the second and third windows matched Who’s That Aniimo? too.
