Piopiota or Panpanta? How to Get Piopiota in Aniimo, and Which Popota Evolution to Pick

Popota splits two ways at level 39, and the evolve screen shows both branches side by side. AniimoSync filmed the Piopiota one on the live client: twine with Popota, walk the Echoback Landing shore until a Susuta of the opposite gender follows, spend a Wave Stone. We read every condition off his screen, compared the two final forms stat by stat, and say which to take first.

Popota evolves into Piopiota or Panpanta at level 39: into Piopiota when you approach and attract a Susuta of the opposite gender to follow you, which is quickest on the beaches of Echoback Landing, and into Panpanta once you have defeated the Alpha Panpanta. Either branch costs one Wave Stone. Take Piopiota first if you want the only released level 3 swimmer and a Water Support that heals. Take Panpanta if you want a breaker with the higher stat total, 545 against 522.

The footage is AniimoSync’s 60-second guide, uploaded on 27 September 2026 and filmed on the live PC client. Every condition below is read off his evolve screen. The stats, skills, spawn points and swim levels come from the game’s own data files, and they match our Piopiota and Panpanta Aniidex pages.

Piopiota or Panpanta: which should Popota evolve into?

Both in the end, but Piopiota first for most accounts. The evolve screen puts the two final forms side by side, and AniimoSync’s video opens on the Panpanta one.

Same line, same element, opposite jobs. Panpanta keeps the family’s Break role and builds on the magic side. Piopiota turns Support and, oddly for a healer, takes the line’s best physical attack and haste.

Our call is Piopiota for the first Popota. Its condition costs a walk on a beach, it goes straight into the Swim slot at the ceiling, and its kit heals the whole squad. Panpanta is the stronger fighter on paper, 23 more base stats and a 176-power innate Home Run, but its condition is an Alpha fight. And you will want both anyway: Popota’s research list pays 5 Flux Crystals for completing both evolution paths.

How do you get Piopiota in Aniimo?

Raise a Popota to level 39, twine with it in Echoback Landing, walk up to Susuta until one of the opposite gender follows you, then evolve for one Wave Stone. Before you meet the condition, the branch looks like this:

Aniimo Evolve screen with the Piopiota branch shown as ???, A playboy in the field of romance, Aniimo level 39 ticked and Approach and attract a Susuta of the opposite gender to follow unticked
0:05. No name yet, only ???, the Aniilog line and a greyed-out Evolve button. The level box is ticked; the Susuta one is not.

That line, A playboy in the field of romance, is where AniimoSync’s opening “playboy Aniimo” comes from. The auto captions spell Susuta “Sasuda”; the screen spells it right. His narration also says “evolve your Popota” while the title says Susuta and Popota: both are correct, because the Popota does the evolving and the Susuta is what it needs to meet.

  1. Get a Popota to level 39. Popota is the middle stage, the one between Susuta and the two final forms.
  2. Keep one Wave Stone. The cost box on both branches holds a single Wave Stone.
  3. Go to Echoback Landing and twine with Popota. That is how AniimoSync does it.
  4. Walk up to Susuta, one after another, until one of the opposite gender follows you.
  5. Press Start Evolving when the field prompt appears, pick Piopiota and press Evolve.

0:11. The cost box opened. One Wave Stone per evolution, and the tooltip names one source: Defeat Alphas.

AniimoSync holds seven, so the stone is not his bottleneck. If you hold none, the Institute Guide’s Alpha Challenge list has an Evolution Material tab, and Alpha Panpanta is on it, as the screenshots in Cheep Tamer’s Alpha guide show. The level matters more than the stone: our region data bands Echoback Landing from 34 to 39, so 39 sits at the top of the zone where you will be doing this.

Where do you find a Susuta of the opposite gender?

On the beaches of Echoback Landing. The game’s data files put all 79 Susuta spawn points there, plus 25 for its Nighttime Form. Our map draws every one, and the Echoback Landing page lists what else lives there. AniimoSync’s advice is not to overthink it: he ran around the shore and, in his words, “it just procs”.

0:13. Twined as Popota, level 40 in the party slot at top right, beside a Lv.52 Susuta. The Untwine prompt at the bottom tells you that you are steering Popota, not your Pathfinder.

Two details from his frames are worth knowing before you go. First, he is twined the whole time. The condition text does not say you must be, but twining is the only setup we have seen work, so do it. Second, a wild Susuta’s name tag shows its level and element and nothing else. There is no gender sign to read from a distance, which is why the method is to walk up to several.

0:21. Close enough to touch, lock-on ring up. The video never states a range; this is how close he is when it triggers.

One second later the camera jumps to a close-up and the condition clears. Behind the banner, a Susuta floats on its back in the water.

Evolving Popota into Piopiota

Press Start Evolving, check that the right-hand branch now carries a name, and press Evolve. The same screen as before, 23 seconds later:

Aniimo Evolve screen with the Piopiota branch now named, Nova Stage, Aniimo level 39 and Approach and attract a Susuta of the opposite gender to follow both ticked and Evolve active
0:28. ??? has become Piopiota, both boxes are ticked and the Evolve button is live. Panpanta is still offered on the left.

This is the choice. Nothing in the video or in our data files suggests a Nova stage can be turned back, so treat whichever you press as final for that Popota. The animation runs about ten seconds, and then the reveal card:

Aniimo evolution reveal of a male Piopiota, Nova Stage, Support, with its Aniilog line It only does three things: eat, sleep and charm
0:43. Nova Stage, a male sign, Support, and the line AniimoSync reads out: It only does three things: eat, sleep and charm.

His Piopiota is male. Since the branch asks for the opposite gender, a female Popota needs a male Susuta and a male Popota a female one. You only find out which Susuta you had when it follows.

Is Piopiota a good swimmer?

Yes. Piopiota swims at level 3, the ceiling, and no other released Aniimo does. Susuta, Popota and Panpanta all swim at 1, so this branch is the only way the line climbs. AniimoSync’s pitch is the same: “if you haven’t found one yet, this is your guy.” Our fast travel and exploration guide reaches that conclusion from the tables, with Pranky at 2 as the next best.

Aniimo prompt Replace with Swim to twine Aniimo? next to a freshly evolved Piopiota on an Echoback Landing beach, with P Auto Replace below it
0:46. Seconds after the evolution, the game offers to put Piopiota in the Swim slot by itself: Replace with Swim to twine Aniimo?

One thing on screen does not match the data. Both evolve panels, Panpanta’s and Piopiota’s, carry the same water-drop badge reading L3, and the data files give Panpanta Swim Lv.1. A 60-second video cannot tell us what that badge counts, so for Panpanta we keep the data’s 1. For Piopiota the data, the swim prompt and AniimoSync all say 3.

What does Piopiota do in a fight?

It heals the squad from puddles and buffs Water damage. Four combat skills, from its Aniilog entry:

  • Surf: rides a wave to the target and creates 4 puddles. Power 50, cost 20.
  • Surge: heals the whole team for 4% of Piopiota’s max HP, and within 10 m of water it absorbs up to 4 puddles to raise the heal. Power 72, cost 20.
  • Dark Tide: in the Aniilog’s words “Gains -15% BREAK Damage Reduction for 20s”, with one extra stack per puddle absorbed, up to 4. Power 76, cost 20.
  • Water Cannon: an area water ball that leaves a puddle. Power 39, cost 10, half the cost it has on Susuta and Popota.
Aniimo twined Piopiota on the Echoback Landing beach beside a pink-furred Lv.52 Susuta, the skill bar reading Puddle, Heal and Damage Boost under a Complete banner
0:49. Twined as Piopiota. The field skills change from Push and Puddle to Puddle, Heal and Damage Boost, and a Susuta in pink fur stands next to it.

Our reading of the text: Surf first, then Surge, because Surf makes exactly the 4 puddles Surge can drink. How much that heals is unclear. Read literally, “each puddle absorbed doubles the healing” takes 4% to 64% of max HP with four puddles; the official Aniilog page words it as 4% per puddle, 16% for four. We have not measured it, so plan on the smaller figure.

The trait wants a mixed squad. Radiant Charm gives opposite-sex teammates +12% Water damage, and Panpanta’s Appeal fires when an opposite-sex Susuta family member is in the party. A male Piopiota beside a female Panpanta triggers both. That pairing is our inference from the two texts, not something the video tests. The data files also pair Piopiota with Sherro, the Water DPS whose line lives on the same coast, and our team builder is the place to try the pair.

How do you get Panpanta instead?

Same Popota, same level 39, same Wave Stone; the only difference is Defeat the Alpha Panpanta. The screenshots in our Alpha coverage show Alpha Panpanta in the Institute Guide’s Alpha Challenge list, on the Evolution Material tab. On AniimoSync’s screen that box sits under Unlock Evolution and is already ticked, which reads like a one-time unlock rather than a job for each Popota. We have not tested it on a second Popota.

To own both final forms you need a second Popota, so go back to the same beach. AniimoSync does exactly that once his Piopiota is done:

Aniimo Pathfinder throwing an Aniipod at a Lv.52 Susuta in the Echoback Landing shallows under the banner Echoback, There seems to be some kind of pattern on the whale bone
0:54. Back after more Susuta. The banner names the spot, Echoback, and two Lv.52 Susuta sit in the pop-up list on the left.

Panpanta also has a form you catch rather than evolve. Prismana Panpanta is the one Prismana Form Echoback Landing’s Prismana Flow can attract, which our Prismana Sherro guide confirms from the Change Weather screen. The data files also record one wild Panpanta spawn point in Echoback Landing.

The whole Susuta evolution line

Susuta evolves into Popota, and Popota branches into Piopiota or Panpanta. Each stage also has a Nighttime Form, and Panpanta has a Prismana one.

Popota has only 8 wild spawn points against Susuta’s 79, so evolving a Susuta is the realistic route to a spare Popota. Nighttime Piopiota is the one form in the line with a second element, Dark on top of Water, and the time of day guide covers how to hunt the night Susuta. What we cannot give you is the Susuta to Popota condition: the video starts at Popota, and our data files do not carry it. In the data files every regular and Nighttime form shares the same Umbral rate, 1 in 3,000, and the same Sparkling rate, 1 in 20,000.

  1. Should I evolve Popota into Piopiota or Panpanta?

Piopiota first for most players, as of 30 September 2026. It is the only released Aniimo with Swim level 3, a Water Support that heals the whole squad, and its condition is only a walk in Echoback Landing. Panpanta has the higher total, 545 base stats against 522, and stays a Break Aniimo, but needs the Alpha Panpanta beaten. Popota’s research pays 5 Flux Crystals for completing both evolution paths, so a second Popota is worth raising.

  2. How do you get Piopiota in Aniimo?

Raise a Popota to level 39, keep one Wave Stone, then go to Echoback Landing, twine with the Popota and walk up to wild Susuta until one of the opposite gender follows you. A prompt reads “A remarkable change is about to happen”: press Start Evolving and choose Piopiota. AniimoSync filmed the whole method on the live client in a video uploaded on 27 September 2026.

  3. What level does Popota evolve in Aniimo?

Level 39, for both branches. The evolve screen lists “Aniimo level 39” under Evolution Criteria for Piopiota and for Panpanta. Piopiota then needs a Susuta of the opposite gender to follow you, Panpanta needs the Alpha Panpanta defeated, and each costs one Wave Stone. Checked against AniimoSync’s footage of 27 September 2026.

  4. How do you get Panpanta in Aniimo?

Evolve a level 39 Popota after defeating the Alpha Panpanta, for one Wave Stone. Alpha Panpanta appears in the Institute Guide’s Alpha Challenge list, on the Evolution Material tab. Prismana Panpanta is caught instead, during a Prismana Flow in Echoback Landing, and the game’s data files record one wild Panpanta spawn point there, as of 30 September 2026.

  5. What is the best swimming Aniimo?

Piopiota. It swims at level 3, the highest level, and in the launch data no other released Aniimo does. Pranky, at level 2, is the next best and easier to get early. The game even offers to move Piopiota into the Swim slot the moment it evolves. Correct as of 30 September 2026.

  6. Where do you find Susuta in Aniimo?

Echoback Landing. The game’s data files place all 79 Susuta spawn points there, plus 25 for the Nighttime Form, which only appears at night. The name tag shows level and element but no gender, so for the Piopiota evolution you walk up to several until one follows you. Checked on 30 September 2026.
