Randomizes damage dealt between 70% and 150%.

How held items work →

The Core effect trades certainty for a ceiling: every hit lands somewhere between 70% and 150% of its damage. Over a long fight that averages out above par, over a single burst window it can land either side, so it suits content you can repeat rather than a one-shot check.

The Core effect replaces every damage number with a roll between 70% and 150%, so what the item is worth is the mean of that roll, and both energy lines are rules that move the mean.

  1. 110%

Mean damage roll, Core effect on its own

    The midpoint of the printed range: (70 + 150) ÷ 2.

  2. 114.1%

Mean roll with the 10 energy line

30 of the 80 points of the range sit under 100%, so 37.5% of free rolls are low and the one after each is drawn from 100–150% instead, mean 125%. In the long run 27.3% of rolls follow a low one: 0.273 × 125 + 0.727 × 110.

  3. 119.6%

Mean roll at Legendary, with both energy lines

    Every 6th hit is a fixed 150% and is itself a high roll, so the chain restarts behind it. The 6 hits of a cycle average 110.0, 115.6, 113.5, 114.3, 114.0, 150.0: 717.5 ÷ 6.

The game prints the range and not the shape of it. These means assume every value between 70% and 150% is equally likely, which the item text does not confirm: a roll weighted towards the middle keeps the same mean, a roll weighted low or high moves it.

The item table names no Alpha in particular for it, so there is no spawn to mark on the map of Idyll.

No in-game recommended build names it, so there is nobody to list. Its Base effect points it at DPS Aniimo.
