How held items work →What the Ambusher’s Cloak is for
The Core effect only pays out on position: attacks made from stealth or from behind carry Damage Amp +25%, and both energy effects double down on the same idea, a higher critical rate on back attacks and critical damage that holds for five seconds after one lands. It wants an Aniimo you can actually manoeuvre behind, and it does nothing at all from the front.
The Ambusher’s Cloak in numbers
The Core effect pays on position rather than on time or on damage, so the figure that matters is the share of your attacks that land from behind: below it the item is worth less than its own Base effect, above it more.
35%
Damage Amp on an attack from behind, at Legendary
The Base effect's 10% applies to everything and the Core effect's 25% only here: 10 + 25, against 10% from the front.
40%
Share of attacks from behind at which the Core effect averages the Base effect's 10%
10 ÷ 25. At half your attacks from behind the Core effect averages 12.5%; at all of them, 25%.
1 every 5 s
Back attacks a second needed to hold the 15 energy window open
The 30% crit damage lasts 5 seconds and refreshes on each trigger, so one landed back attack inside every 5 seconds keeps it permanent, on top of the 15% crit rate the 10 energy line gives back attacks.
The break-even assumes the Base effect and the Core effect add rather than multiply, which is how the two are printed. Nothing here can say how often an Aniimo actually attacks from behind: that is the player's number to put in.

How to get the Ambusher’s Cloak (3)
The game lists 3 sources for the Legendary Ambusher’s Cloak: defeating Alphas, an Other chest and the Pawprint Shop.
Also listed (2)
- Defeat Alphas
- Other chest
Named by the game, placed nowhere on the map.
The item table names no Alpha in particular for it, so there is no spawn to mark on the map of Idyll.
Which Aniimo carries the Ambusher’s Cloak
Aniidex →No in-game recommended build names it, so there is nobody to list. Its Base effect points it at DPS Aniimo.
