Aniimo Lightweave Gacha: 0.25% Rates, Pity and the Real Cost of Forest of Butterfly Dreams, With AniimoSync

Forest of Butterfly Dreams put a random paid draw into a game whose producer said it was “definitely not a gacha game”. AniimoSync read the rate, the ticket price and the top-up ladder off the live client on 30 September 2026; we redid every sum, checked the items against the game’s data files and set his numbers next to what Pawprint said in June and September.

Aniimo has a gacha now, for cosmetics only: Lightweave, the Forest of Butterfly Dreams draw that went live on 30 September 2026, sells random pulls at 38 Lumin Crystals a ticket and lists its featured Woven Wings of the Wildwood at a 0.25% rate per pull, with no pity system that AniimoSync could find. No Aniimo is in the draw. Lumin Crystals only come from real money, so one pull costs about USD 0.53, and a 50% chance at the featured item costs about USD 148.

The numbers on this page come from AniimoSync’s video of 30 September 2026, recorded on the live client the day the event opened. He read the rate, the ticket price and the top-up packs off the game, then worked out the odds and the dollar cost himself. We redid every sum, they all hold, and we checked the items against the game’s own data files and our cash shop price list.

AniimoSync is not a partner of Pawprint Studio and says so at the start of the video. His opinions are marked as his below. The facts, the rate, the price and the interview quotes, are stated plainly, with the timestamp where they appear.

Aniimo Lightweave gacha rates: what does 0.25% mean?

Lightweave is a ticket draw. Each ticket is one pull, and the featured limited appearance item, Woven Wings of the Wildwood, has an official rate of 0.25% per pull: one chance in 400. AniimoSync quotes that figure as the one “listed in the game”, at 3:16. The rate screen itself is not in the footage, so the 0.25% is his reading of the client, not a frame we can show.

Aniimo Lightweave banner for Forest of Butterfly Dreams, 28d 22h left, a green-clad archer, Frosted Bough, Dewdrop marked 300, and 1 time(s) and 10 time(s) draw buttons
2:44. The Lightweave draw screen on 30 September 2026. Every pull takes one ticket, and the 10 time(s) button is simply ten tickets.

The banner he films at 2:44 is headed Forest of Butterfly Dreams, with 28d 22h left on the clock, a Bond panel, a card showing Frosted Bough, Dewdrop marked 300, and two buttons: 1 time(s) and 10 time(s). Both balances at the top, Lumin Crystals and tickets, read 0.

The items are real entries in the game’s data files, already present in build 1.0.0.7, the launch client. Woven Wings of the Wildwood is a Legendary Top, item 711035, described as “Clean forest air curls around you, and soft gauze drifts deep into dreamwood.” A Legendary set called Butterfly Dream Amber, item 710035, uses the same icon, which makes the wings top the centrepiece of that set. Frosted Bough, Dewdrop, the piece on the banner card, is a Legendary accessory, item 811054.

The data files we hold do not contain the draw table itself, so the 0.25% cannot be checked against them and the rest of the pool is unknown. AniimoSync says there are other prizes, not all cosmetics, and skips them. Every outfit piece the files know about is in our outfit catalogue.

How many Lightweave pulls does it take to get Woven Wings of the Wildwood?

There is no number of pulls that guarantees it. At 0.25% a pull, 100 pulls give a 22% chance, 277 pulls a 50% chance, 400 pulls 63% and 920 pulls 90%. AniimoSync makes the point that people miss: 1 in 400 does not mean you get it by the 400th pull. Each pull is a fresh roll, so the chance of having it after n pulls is 1 − 0.9975n.

Aniimo Lightweave odds chart: chance of the 0.25% featured item rising to 22% at 100 pulls, 50% at 277, 63% at 400 and 90% at 920, with USD cost under each pull count
3:33 to 5:08. Our chart of AniimoSync’s figures. The curve flattens fast: going from 63% to 90% costs another USD 277, more than the first 63 points did.

Every chance and every dollar in AniimoSync’s video matches this table, from 22% at 100 pulls to USD 490 at 920. On average it takes 400 pulls, because the mean of a 1-in-400 roll is 400, but half of all players are done by 277 and an unlucky tenth are still pulling past 920.

Does Aniimo’s Lightweave have a pity system?

None that AniimoSync could find. At 3:41 he says he has not seen a traditional pity system in Lightweave and cannot confirm one yet. That is the honest state of it on 30 September 2026: no counter that guarantees the featured item after a set number of pulls appears in his footage.

What he does mention, at 4:18, is a set of milestone rewards that hand out free tickets, plus first-time bonuses, which together lower the real price over time “with certain stipulations”. He gives no numbers for either, so neither is counted in the table above. Read the table as the worst case for a player who buys every ticket.

Where else tickets come from is outside this page: the costs below assume you buy every one with crystals.

How much does a Lightweave pull cost in Lumin Crystals and real money?

One Lightweave ticket costs 38 Lumin Crystals and ten cost 380, so there is no discount for buying ten at once. Both prices are on the purchase prompt he shows at 3:02 and 3:05, word for word: Spend 38 to purchase the following item(s)? and the same line with 380.

Aniimo Confirm prompt reading Spend 38 to purchase the following item(s)?, the pink Lumin Crystal icon and one purple Lightweave ticket, with Cancel and Confirm
3:02. One ticket for 38 Lumin Crystals. The pink star is the same icon the Top-Up tab uses for the paid currency.
Aniimo Confirm prompt to spend 380 Lumin Crystals on a stack of 10 Lightweave tickets, the ticket icon marked 10 above Cancel and Confirm buttons
3:05. Ten tickets for 380, exactly ten times the single price.

Lumin Crystals cannot be earned in play. The in-game tooltip lists Shop Top-Up as their only source, as our cash shop guide showed at launch, which is why AniimoSync says Lightweave is tied to real money.

To turn crystals into dollars he uses the biggest pack: USD 99.99 for 6,480 crystals plus 648 extra, 7,128 in all. That puts a crystal at 1.40 US cents, a pull at USD 0.53 and ten pulls at USD 5.33. The sums are right. The 99.99 pack is not quite the cheapest per crystal, though: the USD 29.99 pack, 2,178 crystals with its extra, works out at 1.38 cents, which takes a pull to USD 0.52 and the 50% mark to about USD 145 rather than 148. The difference is small, and it does not change his point.

Aniimo Top-Up packs of Lumin Crystals: 60 for USD 0.99, 300 for 4.99, 980 for 14.99, 1980 for 29.99, 3280 for 49.99 and 6480 for 99.99, each with a 10% extra
4:01. The six packs as filmed on 30 September 2026, unchanged since launch. The orange First-Time Bonus badges pay Glimmer, a different currency, not Lumin Crystals.

Those orange badges are the first-time bonuses he mentions. Each pays Glimmer equal to the pack size, once per tier. Whether Glimmer can buy Lightweave tickets is not shown in the video, so the costs here stay in crystals. For scale, 380 crystals, the price of ten pulls, is also the price of the cheapest fixed outfit in the shop, Lulu Starlight.

Is Aniimo a gacha game now? What Pawprint said in June and September

Creatures are still not in any draw, but the outfit side of the game now has one. AniimoSync builds the video around two interviews with Jovi Zhang, Aniimo’s Executive Producer, and shows the text of both on screen.

The first is the MMORPG.com interview of 26 June 2026, from Summer Game Fest. The line he opens with, in the interviewer’s words and spelling:

Aniimo interview excerpt from June 2026: Zhang, laughing but serious, says the game is definitely not a gacha game and that the team is sure about that
0:00. The quote that opens the video, from MMORPG.com’s June interview: “Animo is definitely not a gacha game. We are sure about that.”

AniimoSync reads the fine print. In that interview, he says at 1:17, Zhang explains why gacha would not fit the way players meet Aniimo, and the no-gacha talk is about the creatures. Cosmetics are never mentioned in connection with gacha. In the same piece, Pawprint says how it does intend to make money:

Aniimo June interview excerpt: Pawprint Studio focusing mostly on cosmetics, and Zhang saying monetization will mainly focus on people or Aniimo outfits
1:40. “Our monetization will mainly focus on people or Aniimo outfits.” Paid cosmetics were always the plan; the open question was how they would be sold.

The second is the DualShockers email interview of 14 September 2026, two days before launch. The question was wider: any gacha mechanics, “whether directly or indirectly”. The answer starts with creatures and moves straight to cosmetics.

Aniimo DualShockers Q and A, September 2026: Jovi Zhang says gacha mechanics will not be employed for obtaining Aniimo and cosmetic choice will expand
1:57. “Gacha mechanics will not be employed for obtaining Aniimo”, followed by a promise to “expand the choice of cosmetic items and how these can be obtained”.

Read side by side, the two answers are not the same promise. June says the game is not a gacha game. September says gacha will not be used for obtaining Aniimo, and leaves the way cosmetics are obtained open. Lightweave keeps the September promise to the letter: no creature is in the draw. Whether it keeps the June one is the argument AniimoSync is making. Our roadmap interview breakdown flagged that wording on 19 September; the same interview says battle passes, like the Companion Handbook, cosmetics and consumable boxes stay as the business model.

Catching is unaffected. Legendary Aniimo such as Irisalis still come from the token and story route that replaced the beta’s random Legendary catch, announced in the 3 September dev letter and covered in what Aniimo removed before launch, and the paid capture items are listed with their free routes on the Aniipod page.

AniimoSync’s case: why not just sell the outfit?

AniimoSync says he has no problem with paid cosmetics, only with selling them through a random draw. His own Pathfinder still wears the starter outfit, he says at 7:43, and he cares about cosmetics less than most. What he cares about is how the game is seen.

AniimoSync on camera at his microphone during the Aniimo gacha video, in the section asking why Pawprint does not simply sell the cosmetics at a fixed price
6:30. The section AniimoSync calls Why Not Just Sell the Cosmetics?, the core of his argument.

His points, in order:

  • It is a system, not a one-off. Lightweave is built and polished, and it arrived as a themed event, so he expects more of them (5:30).
  • Price it instead. If the set is premium, he would rather see a fixed USD 30 or USD 50 price tag, and he thinks people would pay it (6:44). For comparison, the shop’s fixed-price outfits ran from 380 to 1,280 crystals at launch.
  • Gacha in one layer is gacha for the people who play for that layer. Catching has no gacha; fashion now does. Players who came to Aniimo for outfits, he says, include people who left Infinity Nikki over its prices (6:14).
  • “Just don’t spend” misses the point. He compares it to telling someone who wants PvP to play another game (7:16).
Aniimo outfit cost chart: Lulu Starlight 380, Seaside Heartbud 980 and Razor Edge 1,280 Lumin Crystals against 10,526 for a 50% Lightweave chance and 34,960 for 90%
6:44. Our chart of his comparison: the fixed-price outfits at launch against what a 50%, 63% or 90% chance at the Lightweave item costs.

He also argues that creators who defended the game on this point now look foolish, and that the split in the community, between players calling each other broke and players who simply will not gamble, is the real damage. That is his view, stated as such. The facts underneath it, the 0.25%, the 38 crystals and the missing pity, are what the reader can check.

What has happened since the Lightweave launch?

As of 1 October 2026, nothing has changed on Lightweave. Pawprint’s October Dev Feedback update came out the next day. AniimoSync’s follow-up video describes it as proof that feedback leads to changes elsewhere, and says in its description that the gacha situation is “still unresolved” and was not directly addressed.

One date is ours, not his: a clock showing 28 days and 22 hours on 30 September runs out on 28 or 29 October 2026, depending on the hour he filmed and your server’s clock.

His request is specific: leave feedback, respectfully, on the official Aniimo Discord, not his community server, because that is where Pawprint reads it. He ends by saying he still wants Aniimo to succeed, and that he is speaking up because of that.

If you are deciding whether to pull, the useful numbers fit in one line. About USD 0.53 a pull, about USD 148 for even odds, no pity seen, and the clock runs out around 28 October 2026. Everything else on sale in the shop, with fixed prices, is on our cash shop page, and our pay to win guide covers what money buys outside cosmetics.

  1. Is Aniimo a gacha game?

For creatures, no: no Aniimo can be obtained from a random paid draw, as Pawprint promised in September 2026. For cosmetics, yes, since 30 September 2026: the Lightweave draw for Forest of Butterfly Dreams sells random pulls at 38 Lumin Crystals each, and Lumin Crystals are bought with real money.

  2. What are the Lightweave rates in Aniimo?

The featured limited item of the Forest of Butterfly Dreams draw, Woven Wings of the Wildwood, has an official rate of 0.25% per pull, one in 400, according to the rate AniimoSync read from the live client on 30 September 2026. The rates of the other prizes are not given in his video.

  3. Does Lightweave have a pity system?

Not one AniimoSync could find. On 30 September 2026 he said he had seen no traditional pity system and could not confirm one. He did mention milestone rewards that give free tickets, which lower the cost over time, but no pull count guarantees the featured item in his footage.

  4. How much does a Lightweave pull cost in real money?

One ticket costs 38 Lumin Crystals and ten cost 380. At the USD 99.99 pack rate, 7,128 crystals, that is about USD 0.53 a pull and USD 5.33 for ten, or about USD 0.52 a pull at the slightly better USD 29.99 pack. Figures checked on 1 October 2026.

  5. How many pulls to get Woven Wings of the Wildwood?

No number guarantees it. At 0.25% a pull, 100 pulls give a 22% chance for about USD 53, 277 pulls a 50% chance for about USD 148, 400 pulls 63% for about USD 213 and 920 pulls 90% for about USD 490, at 38 Lumin Crystals a pull.

  6. Did Pawprint say Aniimo would not have gacha?

Yes, twice in different words. In June 2026 Executive Producer Jovi Zhang told MMORPG.com the game was definitely not a gacha game. In September 2026 he told DualShockers that gacha mechanics will not be employed for obtaining Aniimo, and that the choice of cosmetics and how they are obtained would expand.

  7. When does Forest of Butterfly Dreams end in Aniimo?

The banner showed 28 days and 22 hours left on 30 September 2026, which points to 28 or 29 October 2026 depending on your server clock. That end date is our arithmetic from the timer, not a date the banner prints.
