Increases Movement Speed by 25% and REGEN by 15% while in water terrain. Lasts 2s after leaving.
How held items work →What the Pearl of the Sea is for
The Core effect is terrain-gated: 25% more movement speed and 15% more REGEN while in water, holding for two seconds after leaving it. On dry land only the REGEN Base effect applies, so the Pearl is worth carrying for water content and little else.
The Pearl of the Sea in numbers
Every line on this item is gated on water, so the only arithmetic it supports is the difference between standing in it and standing out of it.
25% against 10%
REGEN in water against REGEN on land, at Legendary
The Base effect's 10% applies everywhere; the Core effect's 15% only in water, and for 2 seconds after leaving it.
+25%
Movement speed in water
It is the only Core effect of the 24 that touches movement speed at all.
+15% and 20% resistance off the target
Water damage in a water field, at Legendary
The two energy lines both read the same terrain the Core effect does, so nothing on this item pays out on dry land beyond the Base effect.
The game does not print how much of Idyll counts as water terrain, so no share of playtime can be put against these figures. They are what the item is worth while the condition holds, and it is worth the Base effect alone otherwise.
The Pearl of the Sea at each rarity

What is unusual about the Pearl of the Sea
Gated on the ground you are standing on
2 of the 24 Core effects read the terrain rather than the fight. Off that terrain the item is its Base effect and nothing more.

How to get the Pearl of the Sea (4)
The game lists 4 sources for the Legendary Pearl of the Sea: defeating Alphas, an Other chest, Destiny Held Item Pack and the Pawprint Shop.
Also listed (3)
- Defeat Alphas
- Other chest
- Destiny Held Item Pack
Named by the game, placed nowhere on the map.
The item table names no Alpha in particular for it, so there is no spawn to mark on the map of Idyll.
Which Aniimo carries the Pearl of the Sea
Aniidex →No in-game recommended build names it, so there is nobody to list. Its Base effect points it at regen and support Aniimo.
Closest rivals for the REGEN slot
All 3 →| Item | Core effect | Builds |
|---|---|---|
| Equipped Aniimo gain 0.7 additional REGEN per level. | 35 | |
| When using a skill, 20% chance to gain 5 EP. | 19 |
All 3 grant +10% REGEN at Legendary, so only the Core effect separates them.
